after the price increase on 6/2, will there be incentives?

dh and I want to buy an add on at BCV of 150 - 200 pts.
unfortunately, we will not be able to buy them til after the point increase! (probably like 2 weeks later

does anyone know if they will be offering the $5 off incentive still, or any other incentive after June 2nd??

I'd think twice about the $5 magical beginnings incentive. You are selling your points to them for $5, but paying $3.71 in dues. If you will not go before your use year is up, bank them or try to rent them for $10.

Talk to your guide. You may be able to get the paperwork going and get a deposit in before the increase and then take a couple more weeks until you are able to arrange payment for the rest.

I'd second Robin's suggestion if it is possible for you to at least make the commitment and place the minimum down payment. $5 per point can make a big difference. I doubt with the way BCV seem to be selling that they will offer any significant incentives beyond the not-so-attractive $5 point buyback. But, you never know.

I think we are reading on this board that BCV is almost 50% sold out, and they haven't opened yet. Other DVC resorts won't be available to sell for a while, so there doesn't seem to be much need for additional incentives. I agree with the above regarding $5 magical beginnings, it's not much of an incentive, but it may be available. Good luck with your purchase.

For what it's worth from one of the "new kids on the block" my guide told me when we were finalizing our purchase that BCV was a little over 30% sold. With 2 new projects under construction but not due to open for over a year from now, my guess would be they probably don't need to provide any incentives.

My guide gave me the impression that it was easy to lock in the lower price and buy yourself some time to close the deal, maybe yours would be able to get you the time you need.

Laura.... I don't know your situation, but just so you know, the whole process once you give your guide the go ahead takes a couple of weeks and can take longer if you stall a bit. Once you tell your guide you want the points you have to give them a $500 deposit (can be done on a credit card), they will then send you your paperwork which takes a week or two to get to you. You have to sign all your paperwork and send it back, we took 2 weeks to do this part. You then get approved and have to put down the rest of your down payment. As you can see this whole process can take a month, but once you tell your guide you want the points you lock in at that current price, so if your situation allows it, you might want to do it now.

We bought at VWL last year, shortly before the price increase from $72 to $75. At the time, our guide was willing to hold things for us at the old price until we were ready to sign, even though this may have been a few weeks after the price increase (in the event this wasn't necessary), as long as we gave her the go-ahead.

We were also able to spread our cc payments over two installments to avoid going over our cc credit limit, and I believe we could have had three or maybe even four installments. When we added on another 25 points recently, even that went on two cc payments.

My feeling then was that our guide was happy to work out the best way for us to buy in (and she got the sale!).

the situation is that we have to sell our house first. we have an offer, and we are suposed to be closing end of July, but we dont feel comfortable buying the points til its definate that we sold our house!

we cant stall to much, cause we are already approved. my guide told us that it could go right through, cause we are already members, and are in excellent standing (our original contract is paid in full)

i will call our guide though before june 2nd, and see what he can do.
