After the cruise in Miami

I saw something a while back that showed the shore excursions and it had one for the day we arrive in Miami after the cruise for a hop on and off bus and ultimately get us to the airport. But I haven't seen this on the official Disney cruise site. Does Disney still offer this? Is it only available to book once you're onboard? If it's not available, what recommendations do you have to get to the airport?

That excursion is only available to book on board. And, if not enough people sign up for it, they won’t offer it so you have to keep that in mind. What time is your flight?

In Miami the airport is only about 20 minutes away or so. We have taken both the DCL bus back to the airport and a taxi. The transfer is not as much pp as the Port Canaveral to MCO transfers. There are also many taxis and Ubers available.

I was planning on this excursion. But I was unable to book in onboard. I tried with guest services, then tried to double check with the port excursion desks (who said it didn’t count as an excursion, then again with guest services.

Was this after resailing began? I wonder if there are still supplier issues. Disney had to work with the HOHO people plus luggage storage and airport transfers.

That might be outdated info. We were told the same thing, but on our cruise in Jan, we found out (onboard) that it wasn't available (like, at all, nothing about not enough people). Guest services said it shouldn't even have been listed on the site. We got in to Miami and had to make our own arrangements. I wouldn't count on it being available.

This was 2 weeks ago :) We were on the Dream out of Miami 4/15-4/22.

Oh right. That reminded me…I pushed the second guest services rep on why it was listed on the site. He just said something like it used to be available for the Magic, but it simply won’t be available for the Dream.

Thanks everyone for the link. We're on the Magic and our plane doesn't leave 9pm so we've got lots of time to kill. Any ideas for a backup plan?

Rent a car at the airport! There are location that claim to pick up at the port but Google those and read the reviews. Hot mess all around. Uber to the airport to pick up was super easy.

Highly recommend the Frost Science Museum if you have kids.

You can still schedule the bus tour on your own if it's something you want to do.

Otherwise, I second the recommendation for the Frost museum.

A warning about renting a car. In my experience, the Budget desk is a disaster at Miami with waits as long as an hour...we gave up and called an uber to take us where we wanted to go (dragging luggage)...not a great experience. Oh, and the transportation center can be a long hike from some areas
