I don’t know how I’ve never heard of after hours before now! I will be taking my fours kids ages 11-21 over spring break and wondering your thoughts if it is worth the extra money. I would be considering between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We are staying for a week on property with a seven day non hopper pass.
I’ve always loved being at the parks after dark but that’s a huge chunk of money for three hours.
Thanks in advance

A lot of info in these two threads, including links to in-thread DISer reviews, in case you haven't seen them:

I'm personally a fan of the event and have enjoyed our After Hours experiences. I do think the MK event is a better value given the material difference in ride count and overall experiences, but AK has its merits as well.

There's a lot of info on both threads to help determine if either is a good fit for your particular park preferences/touring style.

Have a great trip!

We are also looking at doing this and are undecided as to which park to do it in. We may consider two of them, providing of course there are dates available when we are travelling. The kids want to do DHS and possibly AK. DH wants to MK and possibly AK. I'm undecided and will go with the flow.

We were already considering upgrading one of our tickets to an annual pass. If we do, is the annual pass holder able to buy tickets with the discount for others in our party and if so, is there a limit. There are 5 of us travelling in total. Our tickets are currently 10 day park hoppers. I imagine we would have to upgrade it when we get there? We are travelling from overseas and have a US travel agent. Does this mean we would have to wait until we arrive to purchase the DAH tickets to obtain the tickets?

It is generally reported that you can get four discounted tickets (one being the passholder, plus three others).

We've done DAH at MK and we loved it! We're going in again in April. I think MK is a better value, as we generally don't have an issue getting everything done that we want in the other parks. Kali River Rapids and Primeval Whirl (yes I know it's cheesy but we love it) are both closed during AK DAH so that's a negative for us. We love FOP but there's only so many times I can deal with the pre-show and not go insane. I would like to try HS DAH, but I don't think DH will want to do both so I would choose MK over that one.

I've done the MK after hours and loved it. I agree with the PP that the value isn't as appealing at the other parks because we can do everything
we want to at AK and DHS anyway. With kids the ages of yours I'm guessing they can walk pretty quickly and would be able to accomplish a ton at MK during the three hours. DD24 and I did 15 or 16 attractions plus had popcorn, drinks, and Mickey bars throughout the evening. I would go as far as to say that you could accomplish more in that 3 hours than you could in an entire day at MK if crowds are moderate to heavy. Since you don't have park hoppers, it also would help with scheduling park days as it would relieve pressure to add days at MK. It is a lot of money, but I feel it's worth it and it's still less than upgrading to hoppers.
