I’m fairly certain of the answer already but I’ll pose the question anyway now that Disney has announced summer dates for After Hours at MK, and one of them falls within my trip dates. Is the DVC member discount unavailable to resale buyers in the same vein as Moonlight Magic?

I would assume No... as resale buyers it seems we really only get the use of our points... no extra discounts on anything else. I went to the After Hours in March, and got a discount with my annual pass though. If you get a chance to go.. I highly recommend it. We LOVED it.

I ordered mine tonight, $89 plus tax. I am a direct member. The AP price is the same.

You can always ask, just state that you are a DVC member, if they ask for the blue card just be honest and say you don't have one. Some CM's don't ask to see it.

Resale owner are still DVC members and no one really seems to know what perks they qualify for and don't, so always ask.

For ticket purchases, they typically have to enter the member # into the computer. I know they did when I bought MVMCP tickets at BWV.

Discount or not the after hours event was well worth the price for us. Great to walk on everything.

Agree absolutely!

I went in February and booked August when they released the new dates. Great price with the DVC discount but honestly I enjoyed it so much I would have even paid full price... and I am known for my frugality LOL

We are currently in the process of buying direct. We considered retail but we get more years buying direct. The rep said that currently resale is just a stripped down membership, meaning no perks just RCI. No discounts etc.

The years of membership are tied to the Resort that you buy your membership at, not whether you bought direct or resale. If you buy Poly direct you get the same number of years as a resale buyer, just not the perks. Unless you need a Gold AP and are going to Disney 2 or more times a year, the membership perks aren't really work the extra cost.

Buying direct they brought all OKW up to 2057. Direct from the rep we are using. Otherwise

You can buy OKW resale contracts that have been extended, but some are some aren’t, just takes a little bit of patience to have the right one come up for sale.

If you feel comfortable with the price difference, I say go for it, it is nice to buy direct because they have your points available for use about an hour after your phone call. We bought 50 direct last year, but that was because we needed some extra points for our 2018 trip and 50 point VGF contracts are tough to come by.

Good luck.
