Has any one heard when the annual pass hotel room
discount rates will be coming out for stays AFTER April 16??

Or know how far in advance they usually come out?

thanks for any help

Honestly i'm surprised they aren't out by now! I ended up going ahead and reserving my rooms for two nights in april with a AAA discount and the reservation specialist I spoke with on the phone said that if AP discounts come out then I can apply them to the rate and they will refund the difference. This would work if you know where you want to stay, but if you are looking for an AP deal then I would wait until the discount comes out.

By checking in on April 15th I was able to get AP rate for the 16th as well.

According to www.mousesavers.com , AP discounts for this time period last year did not come out until March 9. So perhaps we would want to keep a lookout starting tonight and tomorrow. I expect that I will be getting an email this afternoon or tomorrow about AP discounts for this period, if they need to offer any discounts at all.

Can you share with me where you get email notifications of things like this?

I'm not pumpkin boy so I can't be sure, but.....

I think she is talking about the emails that you can request from www.mousesavers.com - they send you one to tell you that the site has been updated. Just go to the site and look for the info on how to sign up to get the email update notifications.

Mary keeps MouseSavers pretty up to date so if AP discounts come out, you find out pretty quick via the update notices. You also find out pretty quick by reading the Resorts Board - the posters over there are always on the hunt for discounted rooms! Now that we are DVC members, I don't need to be as interested in discounted rooms as I used to be. Thank you DVC

Best wishes -

If you are an AP holder, you can register for Passholder emails by registering at dinsneyworld.com/passholder. I've received notification before it is on mousesavers or anywhere else that I've seen. And I think all of us with APs should keep it quiet so the discounts actually go to those who have APs. ;)

There are whole threads on this on the resort boards.... Along with full blown panic that Disney is not going to release codes.

I have no idea what Disney will do, but it makes me glad I bought DVC. Less panic!

Also, on the resort board some people have posted that they are now asking for your AP info when you book AP rates. Not every time, but it appears to be happening. I wonder if the DDE deal made them realize that they needed to "tighten up" on AP discounts?

That's good to hear! :sunny:

If one wants to register at the above mentioned site, they may find it helpful to spell disney correctly in the URL. ;) ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist! :rotfl: :teeth:

Yeah, the panic is kinda funny. From newbies it's perfectly understandable; if you're new to the whole DIsney vacation planning thing, and don't know how close to the vest Disney plays these things, it's awful frustrating to get less than 60 days from your trip and have no discounts available!

But I've seen folks who have been on Disney boards for several years posting ludicrous things like, "OMG Disney hasn't released any codes yet, does that mean that they will never release a discount code of any kind for anybody ever again?! I mean, since MYW came out at least 40 billion people have booked trips, so why would Disney ever need to release discounts again since everybody is lining up like lemmings to pay rack rate?! This is awful! I can't eat, I can't sleep, my boss if threatening to fire me because I haven't done any work in 3 weeks because I'm checking MouseSavers every ten minutes! The sky is falling! The world is coming to an end! Nostradamus predicted this!

By the way, does anybody know where I can activate an AP?"

It gives me a chuckle.

Or one could try dinsney and see what happens. ;) Or yensid...... :sunny:

I remember 2 or 3 years ago the late April discounts did not come out until the actual time started.

That's what I was told the last time I called.

usually mousesavers.com has a teaser and says to check back on a certain day for some exciting news. but nothing yet. I have faith she knows when the codes are to come, and if there isnt a teaser then it is unlikely codes will be released in the next few days. Keep checking mousesavers home page and hopefully something will show up soon.

Bummer for some of us who have to check during our trips to WDW over Easter. I didnt want to have to think about it. :rolleyes1

Ok, how in the world do you do this because either I am losing my mind or something else. I have logged in using my pass on the passholder site and I swear I can't for the life of me find where to register my email address.

Help me please.

I just called and was able to change my regular rate to AAA formy 4/29 stay.
It does at least save me basically the tax on the resort. I asked about the FL resident or AP discounts since I was on the phone anyway and the CM told me nothing yet and from what she's usually seen the FL resident rate comes out first and the AP rate usually comes out the next day. She told me to always ask for the AAA rate as they load them into their systems for the entire year up until mid December, though they're never around for the holiday periods and then I can always change them to the usually discount that I use. Of course, this if the first time that I've had to wait so long for the FL resident discount, it's usually out there when I call.

On the left hand side there is a menu. Select Pass Benefits and Discounts. On that page there is a link to register. I registered a couple of years ago I think and I believe I did it over the phone but I could very easily be wrong about that!

Disney knows that the last couple weeks of april and the start of MAy from there on out , fokes will be flocking to be part of the 50 yr party . With the incentives of having the magical express ,disney will not be in a rush to release any discounts at this time IMO.. The demand is high and supply is coming down for the next couple months. My opinion is you wont see any of the disounts until sept and thru the fall when the demand starts coming down. AGain this is my personal opinion. I hope I totally wrong on this, but time will tell. :badpc:
