our pediatric neurology appointment for DS age 2 is finally here.

I am really hoping we have a good fit and that the neurologist listens to us and what we observe.

While I am extremely happy that my son has the PDD-NOS diagnosis for receiving services I do not believe that it is an accurate diagnosis. I am really hoping she will help us on the right path.

SO I would appreciate any good thoughts you would send our way today.

sending you lots of good thoughts and wishes for the right outcome.

I hope that this doctor will be able to help you out. I'm sending best wishes and prayers your way.

Gosh, I know how you feel!! Sometimes I question our dx too. Right now, I'm trying to decide if I should go outside the schools, and hire an OT to help dd with sensory issues. The OT at school focuses on fine motor skills, not so much coping mechanisms. DD seems so stressed and anxious--trying to research as we speak.

Good luck, If you can it is allways helpful to video tape any characteritics which are transient or enviroment based so that if they are not evident in the clinical review that you can show them.

It went well for a consult. She told us that the PDD-NOS actually really fits him at this point but it can change as we go forward. She wants copies of all his next set of evals since we are getting ready to age out of EI.

She gave us some tips for helping his toe walking more than the PT is doing so we are going forward with that. Since it as simple as changing his shoes.

I think she also wants to see if once we solve our ENT problems and have an accurate hearing test that his speech improves.

The good news is that he is beginning to reach the low end of normal with gross motor skills and she can tell he has been getting OT.

She did say that she does see signs of ADD but wants to monitor him since he is only 2.

I did like that she told us that we are following all the right steps with him and that his receiving ABA, OT, ST and PT is the right thing for now that was a big relief for me.

I am going to read the Tony Atwood book more indepth now.

thanks for all the good thoughts.
