On the first day of trying my phone was put on hold for 30 minutes beore I gave up.

On the second day of trying my call was answered after a wait of 22 mins but the computers were down. The CM took my request for camping at Fort Wilderness. The date, party size, ages and names. Motorhome info. Loop request. He told me he'd call me back when the system came back up.

On the third day of trying no call back. So I called again. This time Amber answered after waiting only 11 mins! Wow, maybe this is my lucky day! So I tell her about the day befores experience. She looks it up......this takes awhile. Then we proceed. She asks all the same questions over again to make sure all is correct. OK, we now have a reservation number! Now, would I like to pay a deposit? Sure...I usually pay for the whole thing at this time. Then then Amber says could you please hold? OK.mmmmmmmm after several mins she comes back and says the system has frozen. Could I call back tomorrow to give credit card info? Or she would call me. OK. She asured me the reservation is set but not the deposit.

So today is the fourth day. I have never had this happen before. I have never heard of this happening to anyone else before. But now you have. Hope it never happens to any of you. I still love Fort Wilderness and WDW. And if it took twice as long to get these reservations, I'd still do it.

I just got off the other disney boards and alot of people had said the systems were down. I am also going to try this weekend for my upcoming trip in June (SIte 1435). I also in the past have been on wait for over 40 minutes one time, when I got my telephone bill a month later it was over 22.00 . So I will try advise someone on the board gave me to use my cell phone. Good luck I hope your reservations go thru ..................Karen

The reservation and check in process is my biggest gripe about Disney (Well other than the cost). We have been to FW more times than I can count and it is almost always an ordeal to get reservations and to get checked in. I really resent the survey questions they try to ask on my dime. I now politely tell the CM I am not answering questions I only need to check for availability. I can only remember getting reservations on the first call one time. (right after 9/11) and the check in time is always 15 min or more after you get to the front of the line. We pay in full in advance and tell the CM we are veterans of FW and know all the ins and outs. I have checked into $35/nt hotels with no reservation in 2 mins including paying the bill. Its not like the CM is just standing there either. They appear to be working hard at getting us checked in. I just don't see why there is so much for them to do.

Try 800-282-0228

I have no idea where that number is from or who it is for, but it works. It's been posted frequently on the resorts board.

I used this number to book my FW stay for May yesterday. Waited about 20 minutes on hold then another 25 minutes to book the entire package. Several times put on hold but I understand the new MYW is a bit confusing and maybe more time consuming. Glad I was using the 1-800#.
