After 25 years of marriage

:confused3 Dont any of you ladies have windows in your bedrooms? A killer can come in that way :confused3

Not if it is way, way up on a second floor. In which case I'd hear him coming and would have time to quickly roll over DH and the pyscho would still get him first.

You know, I would be very concerned if my DH asked for a change like that. I mean, why would a man need to change seats at the table??? Is it the 25 Year Itch?

I know I worried when, after knowing DH for over 20 years, DH changed from tightie whities to boxers. :worried: That could ONLY be the start of bad things!!! :scared1:

You really need to just sit back and figure out what is best for you. Is this a situation that you can work out? Should you go your separate ways? What do you feel is best? Maybe you two should go to counseling. :confused3 I'm so sorry.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, th window is above the head of our bed...but I figure, if they come in that way, they have to deal with both of us.

My dad told me the closest to the door thing for males is from Caveman days . They would sleep across the entrance to protect us!! See where he sleeps in a hotel!! Didn't think about it but DH has always slept nearer the door in 8 homes. Weird!!
Will your Dh be closer to the food? Survival maybe!!

Wow, I never realized.

DH sleeps closer to the door. I thought that was so he was closer in case the kids needed him in the middle of the night.

My heart really goes out to the OP. After 25 years, who would have ever guessed.

Ok, admit it... who else "lets" their DH have the side of the bed that's closer to the door? :teeth: Ok, we switched sides some time ago, now I'm closer to the door, but that was always my thinking. If a psycho breaks into the house, they will get to DH first. ;) :teeth: :teeth:
I "let" DH have the side closest to the door so he would hear the boys when they were small. You can guess what happened - I just had to walk further in the dark. :confused3
We sleep under a window that is only 3 ft off the ground, so I figure the ax murder will come through the window & get us both.

Looks like we need a support group for the nieve among us who plotted for DH to hear/help the kiddies in the night. As if mine could hear them over his snoring!

Need some advice.

The Dh announces to me, out of the blue, with no warning..

So worried about the kids :confused3 :sad2:

That he is ready for a change.

He wants to switch spots at the dining room table :sad2:

Should I oblige?

Should we just switch spots, or switch chairs as well? :confused3

WELL MICHIE:

At least your DH actually sits AT the table...mine WANDERS all over the house, accessing the best spot for his meal NIGHTLY....... :confused3

Tonight my DS found CARROTS in the living room couch!!!!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

You do know that those were fake snores, don't you??? :rotfl2:

In the South that is called playing possum. New dads are quite good at it--never hearing the babies.

:sad2: :sad2: That is against the rules in our house. :sad2:

i am so sorry. this must be such a confusing and upsetting time for you all. just let the kids know that this doesn't change how much you love them, and that it isn't their fault. (unless they were the ones always needing refills and drove him to do it) maybe you could come to a compromise, that when you go out to eat he can pick where he wants to sit first, and then just take it from there.
please keep us posted

I couldn't give a rat's rear who the ax murderer kills first in the middle of the night (ie, who is closer to the door)--all I care about is being closest to the potty! There is never a night that I don't have to make a trip to the restroom and I always want to save a few steps in the middle of the night.

As the the spot at the dinner table--that's serious. No wonderful words of advice. :grouphug: Maybe counseling for that. Wow... :lmao:

AND it gets worse....DH is DENYING those are his CARROTS. :sad2: :sad2:

Well DH, you were the ONLY one on the couch! :guilty: GUILTY!!!

How exactly do you get him to sit at the TABLE and actually STAY there????? :rolleyes2 :rolleyes2
