Has anyone attended the African Story telling? Would you recommend carving out some time in the schedule to attend?

IF you are referring to the one in the evenings around the firepit, then based on myexperience, no. I did put aside time to do it, but I was less than 5 minutes late for the start time. It was OVER by the time I got there. Maybe it's not always the case, but that's what happened to me!

I find it more worthwhile to attend the "cultural safari" given at either 8 or 8:30 at Jambo. Usually it's very interesting, and lasts about 20 minutes. Once in awhile, the CM just talks about a job they've had in their country, and I have found that less interesting. But I imagine some people did enjoy the talk on the "canopy" hikes. It's just not something I'm going to ever do!
I've been to about 8 of these talks, and 6 of them have been very good!

It was pretty good. It does not last very long.(5 to 10 minutes) Make sure to be there on time. It is one of those things, if your schedule allows it then do it but if not it would not be earth shattering.

If you mean this one-

when I went, it lasted more than the 5-10 minutes that it was when Bobbi went. But the bad news is that I wish it had been only 5-10 minutes. It was so boring and lots of kids were fidgeting around by the time our speaker got done rambling (close to 25 minutes, then he only stopped because rain was headed our way). There were a few families who weren't staying at the lodge. I remember one family there trying to figure out how to get back to Pop afterwards. So regardless of where you're staying, you're welcome to go.

I think they have different story tellers each night. Another CM had come up and was talking about the parade and then it was said that she would be doing the story the next night.
