 Hi, I'm 15 and heading to Disney in 5days! I'm excited of course, who wouldn't be? But I'm also really nervous about the flight. Probably anyone who hasn't flown since September 11th is, but I'm afraid it's going to ruin my vacation because I keep thinking that something is going to happen on my flight. Is anyone else having these weird feelings too? pLease post and let me know!

I haven't had any funny feelings about flying since 9-11, but then again i haven't flown since then. The only thing that is going to make me feel different about flying is the longer waits because of extra security.. i hate waiting!! Im not afraid of flying, heck if i could i would fly the plane, hehe but i can't ;) So don't worry, just pop on those headphones and go to sleep, the flight will be over before you know it!

I flew in November, and was very scared. But I knew it was something I had to do and couldn't let it get the best of me. Just try to relax about the whole flying though, alot of people get nervous. Everything will be ok :)

I have always been afraid of flying. I buy a magazine or bring a book and start reading it as soon as i get on the plane or we start moving and just keep reading until i feel comfortable.
Flying is one of my biggest fears even before 9/11 so just find something that helps you feel more comfortable or think of the amazing time you're going to have when you land.

my father and uncle both fly planes as a hobby so as far as the air port run down I have really had little to no problems with it. Yes they can be annoying and take extra long but they are nothing to freak out over.

As far as the whole air plane part they won't even let cross stitch needles on the plane let alone anything that could be used to harm anybody on the plane.

Last time I flew I was freaking out and when I got on the plane a settled down with teh thought more or less If I die, I die and when I die I know where I'm going so....just take a couple deep breaths put your seat back and sleep all the way there dreaming sweet dreams about DISNEY!

I flew to Orlando in March and then flew to a Canadian destination last week. It is different flying now post 9/11 but just remember that it is very safe. Always a good idea to take something to keep you occupied, and try to relax as much as you can. Try doing a search over on the Transportation Board if you would like some other opinions.

Have a great flight and trip! :D

i haven't flown since 9/11, but i don't think that i would be afraid to fly. i really don't think that anything like that would ever happen again. at least i hope not. i don't think that there is anything for you to be worried about. flying is probably the safest thing to do right now. just don't worry about. and have fun at wdw :p

I've flown 4 times since 9/11(all to WDW/DL! lol)
well I've always been scared to fly so post 9/11 wasnt to much of a help

but if you just relax and calm down you will be great!

and to calm you down just think about where you are going! Well it doesnt calm you down...lol...just gets your mind off the plane

the secruity here isnt bad at all...we never wait for any of it...its weird! at spring break in Orlando we waited about 30 minutes to get to our gate...not fun!

and an interesting fact-
more people are killed by donkeys than from plane crashes every year

I've flown out twice since 9/11 and I wasn't too worried but I defnitely will be pretty scared this time since I'll be flying on a pretty long flight on July 4th.

I have flown in November and January. It is safer then ever now. All the guys in the airports with their UNLOADED guns... well that is what it is like in baltimore... and they have ramdom checks to. i mean after going through the metal dector (sp?) most people are scaned agian. and the people scanning your bags and more aware for lack of a better word. when i was there they had to stop the lines many times and see what was in the bags. flying is just fine and i think that it will go off without a hich. you will be fine! i have never liked flying but i feel safer now then before 9-11!

i will be flying for the first time since 9-11 tomorrow, i am not nervous, dont be because it will drive u crazy

Im in the same boat err plane i guess with you. I tried to get some sleeping pills and go to sleep on he plane. Hopefully that will work.

I am also nervous I havent been on a plane since it occured. But flying is very safe right now. I will probably sleep during the flight or read a book to keep me occupied so i dont think of what could happen.

Im from Jersey too and ContempoSMT and I are flying to WDW tomorrow! I am not scared of flying and you shouldnt be either. Dont worry, everything will be fine. I have been on an airplane after September 11th already and I will admit that I was a little scared, but everything was fine! Dont worry about it!

im terrified of flying......always was always will be.
i can never sleep, and the air is very dry, but you dont have to worry about that cuz your flight isnt all that long. i have to be stuck in that metal tube for like 12 hours.
im really not happy about flying inside the US. you guys might think the securitys good, cuz its better than the non-existant security there used to be in the airports, but its really not all that great. my grandmother flys here from detroit like every month, and her stories about the security gaurds incompatence freak me out. i almost managed to convince my parents to drive it all, but my brother has a back problem so he cant be in a car for so long. oh wel......
dont worry about it, probably nothin will happen and worrying about it deffinately wont get you anywhere.
enjoy!

Frankly....I have ALWAYS been scared of flying. I usually refuse to eat anything and get tense. Ever since I saw one of those plane movies when I was like ten I have been scared! You know when there is either a bomb on board or someone taking over the plane or once I had a dream like Traffic but it was a plane instead of a bus. SCARED THE FREAK OUTTA ME! I woke up in sweat.

!!!I DON'T DO PLANES!!!
