We will be at hojos around 9 the day we arrive and were hoping we could park there and just head back when the room is ready. Do they allow this or do we have to wait to park there until our room is ready?

Also I have made little welcome gifts for our boys, do you think if I left them at the counter they would put them in the rooms before we arrive?

I know I could call hojo but my husband has a serious game of angry birds going on right now on my phone :rolleyes1

We have arrived at Hojos well before our check-in time on occasion. You might be surprised; your room could be ready. At the hour of your arrival though I agree it seems more likely your room will not be ready. Hojos will be happy to issue you a parking pass right then though. Also, you will be able to store your luggage with them in their secure luggage room. As for your question about the welcome gifts, I don't actually know the answer. I'm not sure they deliver things to the room for you there.

We always arrive before check in time, we always just check in anyway. Our room is not usually ready for us yet but that's OK, we grab a parking pass, secure our bags and then head to the parks. I don't know about welcome gifts but you could always head back to the room yourself to get the key and leave the welcome gifts out yourself. :)

We come from Australia and get there early so we usually book the room for an extra night. With our lot we need two rooms, so we just book the one room so we can put all our stuff in there and have a shower before hitting the parks. Last time we organised someone to come in and decorate the room for us, but I'm not sure about asking the HOJO staff to do it. I bet they would though. I would do it for you if I worked there :rotfl:

We were considering booking the room for an extra night- the night before we get there, also. Do you just tell them you will be checking in the next day? I would be concerned they will just think we are a no show. We are leaving NY on a 6:30am flight (leaving the house around 3:30am probably). Will land in LAX around 9:30am, but will feel like 12:30pm. I know we will be exhausted- kids may sleep on plane, but past history indicates that they probably won't! We would like to take in an Angels game, so I was thinking of getting the room for the extra day so we can sleep all afternoon and then head to the game at 5:30pm. Then we will all be rested.

We rang and booked months in advance and told them at the time, but we rang very close to our stay to remind them and we also emailed them. I think they called it a red eye booking or something (not sure). It wouldn't hurt to ring them the day before you left.

Thanks everyone :flower3:

I think we will do this pixie. I will send them for icecream or something while I finish checking in and put the gifts out.

We've stayed at HoJo's many times, also and have arrived early and our room has never been ready early. It is always ready right around 3 pm. But we don't mind putting our things in their secure storage and heading to the parks. :woohoo:

We arrive on a Friday so I'm not sure if it will be ready. No big deal, we plan on going and riding some rides while we wait. I'm so excited to be going, especially since this is our first stay at hojo.

We will have a lot of baggage w/ 3 kids and was wondering if it was safe to just leave in the minivan at their lot? I don't know if my DH is going to want to move it twice!:rolleyes1

But we will if we have to!

I wouldn't recommend leaving it in your minivan, I know we've done it with no problems when we've been there for a short weekend (so we only had small bags, easily covered by blankets) but if you have too much stuff I definitely wouldn't do it.

But on the flip side to that we arrived from Australia in November and we checked into our room at 9am and didnt book an extra night - minus our bags but a different story!

i was shocked we could check in so early but it got me a much needed shower since we had no luggage!
