Aerosmith & Rockin' Rollercoaster

Does anyone know the why Aerosmith was chosen for the Rockin' Rollercoaster? Is there some significance?

Specifically, no, I don't know why Disney chose them...you'd have to ask the executives...

My guesses would be: broad multi-generational appeal, staying power, enough rockin' tracks with the right tempo to suit the attraction; and they were willing...

Aerosmith was actually Disney's second choice. The Rolling Stones were first, but Mick and the boys wanted too much money.
