Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster name change

A friend of mine is a cast member and he works the Rockin Roller coaster at Hollywood Studios. He heard that once the contract with Aerosmith is over they are not renewing it and want to change the name of the coaster. They want it to be Disney branded with a Disney movie or star. The rumor is Hannah Montana is to replace Aerosmith as the star of the ride. I can see it now the "Hannah Montana Sparkle Express". LOL. Don't be suprised if Aerosmith no longer at some point will be associated with this ride.

I hope this really is a rumor & never becomes fact. If it does, I will no longer have any reason to go to HS.

Of all the renaming rumors, this one makes the most sense. Recently, Disney has been doing it's best to push The Muppetts to the forefront hoping to capture a new generation of Muppett enthusiasts. Otherwise, their investment for the branding opportunity will fall to the wayside. This includes the new t.v. show currently in production and the movie that's in the works. What an excellent way to bring more Muppetts into DHS. Animal Rocks- I also love that hippie chick

I overheard a cast member at the coaster when we were there in September...he was mentioning something about it expiring this year, and that there may be a re-furb closing as soon as the New Year rolls around.

Seven Tyler won't live forever so it will change sometime in the future.

I read that they originally wanted the ROlling Stones or U2 but those bands wanted too much money.

We all know it will be rethemed to those awesomely rocking trio of brothers, The Jonas'.... Ok, that was sarcasm.. They don't rock and they totallly stink... The new attraction will be called CAMP ROCK ROLLER COASTER FEATURING THE JONAS BROTHERS...

Hannah Montana wouldn't make much sense since she's only contracted through one more season and rumor is Billy Ray and Miley are trying to cut that in half.

I'm hoping for the Muppets. Not to mention, Disney wouldn't have to worry about the stars getting older and the ride looking dated in another year or two.

Isn't Hannah Montana retheme a little far fecthed seeing how most of her fans don't even make the hight limit let alone like extreme rides like rockin' rollercoaster. I can possibly see the Jonas brothers but the muppets are somewhat more likely.

I think just plain "Electric Mayhem" is a great name for a Roller Coaster!

The more I think about it, the more I LOVE the idea of changing this to Muppetts theme! .... minus the long title lol.

I can picture it now... The queue area would feature classic songs such as "Moving Right Along"

btw, I think the name would retain the name of Rock-n-Roller Coaster, but would simply add "featuring Electric Mayhem." It's only a couple of letters longer than "Aerosmith," (sorta kinda lol)

Finally, something to be excited about!

I would think that any major change to the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster would be up to Hanes, which is now the official sponsor. I just don't see it becoming either a Muppets or Hannah Montana/HSM/Camp Rock/Jonas Brothers/Disney Channel Star Du Jour attraction.

If they rethemed it to one of the Disney Channel kiddy characters of the season it would eliminate so many people because they just don't know who it is. I think that HS is getting to be a joke. American Idol, i'm still wondering who signed off on this one. This used to be one of my fav. parks, but I just don't get that place anymore and where they're wanting to go with it.

It would be dumb to rename it after a kids show that has tweens all excited. Adults and normal teenagers wouldn't go for it.

I think RnRc is already being "sponsored" by a company similar to how Kodak sponsors many of the attractions at Disney. I don't remember who it was, but I can try to find out.
