Aeroplan Problems. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone. I am hoping someone here can give me some advice. I used Aeroplan points to purchase an Air Canada Vacation hotel reservation at Disney PO/FQ for March Break.

Yesterday I called Disney to make reservations for the Magical Express and to add the meal plan to our reservation.

Disney told me they cannot send me the ME tags or add the meal plan. I had to call the agent that booked the reservation.

Aeroplan told me they didn't make the reservation; call Air Canada Vacations.
Air Canada Vacations told me to call Disney. Then told me to call Aeroplan.

I have literally spent almost three hours on the phone since yesterday trying to sort this out. Nobody will take responsibilty for the reservation and nobody will help me make the ME reservations I need.

Any suggestions?

If you haven't already done so, would it make sense to call Disney to ask them to give you the information on their files as to the contact information with the entity that made the reservation on your behalf?

This is why we will only ever book direct with Disney it is so much easier sorry about your troubles but Aeroplan should make the ME ressie for you.

We've seen this issue before when a Canadian travel agent is doing the booking. I guess I would call both Air Canada Vacations and ask to speak to a Disney specialist and Disney and ask to speak to a Canadian specialist. Good luck!!! I think you will be spending a lot of time on the phone again today!

Thanks for the suggestions. Spent an hour and a half on the phone so far today. I am not sure my phone is going to take to much more of my slamming it down in frustration (guess that is why people use headsets).

I will try Disney to see if they have a contact at ACV. That's a good idea.

I THOUGHT using points to book the hotel was a good deal. Given my experience to date, I will not bother in the future.

When you call Disney, make sure you use their 1-800-number: 1-800-828-0228.

Update for anyone interested.

Called Disney and got the name of the ACV employee that made the res. at Disney. Called ACV and got the name of the Aeroplan employee in charge of the Disney promotion. Called Aeroplan and left message for the Aeorplan employee. Got a call from that person.

Was advised that they would make ME reservation for me and call me back to confirm (yahoo!) but that meal plan was not available as part of this promotion and I could not pay for it separately (bummer).

Thanks for everyone's comments.

Glad you finally got it worked out to bad you had to go from the destination end and work backwards to get the proper info for booking ME.

Hmmm....I know I am a travel agent but I fail to see what this has to do with one?????? This is a clear-cut Aeroplan mess up and they should resolve it with their contact at ACV or Disney. As for ACV, my total empathy having ANY dealings with them!! They are a nightmare, for everyone!

We called to redeem points for out vacation that we spent several years saving up. Aeroplan advised us that the points had been cancelled because we hadn't used them in 3 years!! No letter, phone call, correspondence of any kind.

What a company.

Makes you wonder why we always fly out of Bangor!!
