Hey peeps

I have been planning my 40th/Gaydays trip for about 6 months now and have decided to add in another twist to the tour.

Not only will this be our first Gaydays and my (first) 40th but now I want to throw in a (first) cruise to the Bahamas. I worked out that by not staying onsite the whole time (the second half wouldnt qualify for free dining so wasnt as cost effective in any case) I can squeeze in the cost of the cruise.

So the trip will run like this...

24th May - fly to Orlando and Magic Express to our 1 bed OKW villa for a 9 night DxDP food fest - spending a couple days at Universal but mostly WDW.
31st May - Celebrate 40th at Cali Grill
2nd June - Check into "a hotel" (TBC) for 4 nights and Gay Days (Yay!!)
6th June - Get to port Canaveral for a 4 night cruise to bahamas with Royal Caribbean
10th June - Arrive back at Port Canaveral (v tired) and make way home

I have 2 questions.

  • Am I mad for even thinking about adding this in?
  • Any recommendations for transfers (as cheap as poss - dont mind doing shuttles/buses etc)

Thanks in advance for any advise!!

Jim and Darren :dance3:

That sounds like a great trip.

I think you can take the ME back to MCO then easily get a transfer through Mears (I think) or Royal Caribbean (for sure) to the port.

Many people come to Orlando for "Land and Sea" packages!

And you were smart to book the Sea after the land! Gives you time to relax on the ship.....You will be fine!

Your only mistake was not bookind a Disney cruise! ;)

As for transfers, there are lots of limo's in the area, perhaps you can find someone on your same cruise to split the cost.

Thanks Mike - I sooo would have booked the disney cruise had it not conflicted with GayDays and been slightly out of my price range!!

good tip about limo sharing!!

We're doing Cruise first, then the World. You could look at it as a warm up...

Having done a few RC cruises, you're going to be in good hands either way.

That sounds like absolute HEAVEN!!
A cruise is a P-E-R-F-E-C-T way to end a Disney trip!!
I cannot think of a better way to wind down from a few days at the parks than to relax and let the Disney "magic" continue while you do it!!
I'm so jealous...LOL
Let me stow away in your luggage. :lmao:

ETA: Whoops...I missed the Royal Caribbean part...LOL But you're still going to have an amazingly relaxing end to your Disney vacation! Still sounds like heaven! ;)
