I used to post on here all the time, but forgot my user name and password. :lmao:

We started taking DD to Disney when she was about 4, she is now 11. Well our DS will be 8 months old when he takes his first trip in May.
ANY advise would be appreciated. I love learning by others trial and errors.
TIA

Make sure the stroller you use has a recline for naps he'll be taking while strolling through the park.

Definitely take advantage of the Baby Care Centers in the parks. It'll be nice for you and your DS to take breaks there. It's quiet and comfortable w/ AC in the summers and heat in the winters.

Bring a sling or a Baby Bjorn with you for those times when he'll want to check out the sights, or when you'd like to roam around the park w/o a stroller in tow.

That's all I can think of right now...I'm sure others will post other suggestions, but if I think of any more, I'll post again.

Edited to add:

Don't forget about using the Baby Swap option when in line for rides. Just tell a CM that you like to do this and he/she will have the other person in your party wait w/ the baby while you do the ride, then switch off as soon as you're done.

Have a great time! We took our DS to Disneyland for the first time when he was nine months old. :)

I've done the World with an 11 month old and a 1 year old. It wasn't that bad, but she has a great personality too. We did it with a sling and a fanny pack. I couldn't stand taking a stroller and all the stuff that went with it. When we go back in a couple of months I will have an 8 month old as well. I hope she does equally as well as my other daughter did.

I am bringing a small stroller this time though to give my back a break.

Good luck and enjoy.

I am going back to walt disney world in like 4 days I leave on tuesday. I used to post on this site when I was prego with my son. Now my son is 7 months old and we are going back.........i am watching this post too to get some ideas on what we can do. Can't wait! :woohoo:

A reclining stroller will be a must, but I dont think the sling is going to work. DS is 5 months and is the size of an 8.5 month old already. That would kill my back!
Thank you for the advise.

We went last fall when DS was 8.5 mos. old. He is on the large side, but could still fit in a baby bjorn. We brought it but never used it. My DS is not a good stroller sleeper, but he did fall asleep once or twice in the stroller. I wasn't prepared for having to go back to the room so much for naps...he napped 2x a day back then and I always felt that by the time we made it to the parks, we had maybe 45 minutes and then we had to haul back to the room again. Not saying I wouldn't do it again, I would, and I know so many other's kids don't have a problem sleeping in the stroller.

He also napped very minimally. His nap range at home had been anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes and everyday it was just 45 minutes. That was nice in a way, but interesting how he did that.

DS hadn't perfected sitting in the high chair yet, but we managed. He enjoyed the character buffets!

We didn't opt to bring our lightweight stroller - brought the more comfy heavyweight stroller and were happy with our decision.

We went to the store when we got there and didn't buy nearly enough formula. We bought the pre-mix stuff which we didn't usually do at home and I just wasn't very good at estimating how much was in these containers. Buy or bring more than you think you need! I ended up buying a number of small cans from the baby center and the hotel store. They are VERY expensive!

Make sure you have some kind of blanket or something to block the sun from your little one's eyes in the stroller. Our guy's eyes are real sensitive and he was always really irritated when the sun was glaring in on him in his stroller. We had a blanket that we hung over the stroller top so that helped somewhat.

Be prepared that you will be able to do very few attractions...our DS was quite frightened on most adult things that we thought were do-able (Great Movie Ride at MGM, etc.). These attractions are much louder than you ever think they are and can be pretty scary. We should have stuck to MK alot more, but we stayed in the EPCOT area so it was easier and quicker to get to EPCOT or MGM for us.

We did have a good time - we are going again in 2 months when our DS is 14 months...he is down to 1 nap now so I think that will be nice for us! I just wanted to think of the little quirky things that I remembered when we went at that time. I hope this helps. Good luck and take lots of pics!!!

Thank you for the advise.

You can use a sling as a hip carry with your baby, which would actually save your back and your arms. That's what I did with my sling as DS grew older and got heavier. It really helped me:

I would also reccommend getting stroller fans. We use these ans they are great. When dd was 8 months old she would nap in the stroller and we would secure a thin blanket over the front to shade her and then put the fans on her so she would be cool. They are the best invention! princess:

like i posted on the other baby question - we bought a cheap brita filter so that the baby could have filtered water rather than buying bottled all the time - the reclining stroller is a must - a bottle washer and detergent - the baby may or may not be using a bottle - but if it's a bottle or a sippy cup you'll always want to have something clean - a crib sheet from home - and lots of wipes

we did wdw w/a 6month old - a 13 year old and a 15 year old - and trying to keep up w/the teens w/the 6month old was actually fun - the baby didn't slow them down too much - and his carriage held all of their stuff - so it was an even trade -

Ziploc bags. youll be amazed how you use them.

If your baby is sitting up and eating cheeios or such get some presterilized stickey mats to put on the tables.

Your regular stroller. and a rain cover for it. Coiver it whenever you leave it someplace. The flash rains can be a killer. Should the worst occur, disposable diapers are great for soaking up most of the water.

A carrier for rides and shows and places you cant take the stroller.

a sheet or two for a pack-n-play. thats the crib provided. its nice to have your own sheets for the baby.

Remember: when kidswitching, they wont make you ride alone, so the 11 yr old can ride twice, once with each parent.

Flying? Buy the baby a ticket and use a FAA aproved carseat on the plane.
