We are going on vacation for 17 days and leave next Friday. We are doing some off property and park meals. We had some questions on the following places...

Rainforst Cafe in DTD - Is it the same as the ones in the other parts of uS? Is it worth it?

Turf Club - We will be at SSR and have heard it is good. We will not be doing to many full service restaurants and are thinking of this as one. Will this be a good choice?

Boardwalk Bakery - opinions??

ESPN Club - opinions????

Earl of Sandwich - We need a CS either at DTD or at SSR, opinions???

Contempo Cafe - opinions???

AMC Dine In - Is this a good experience?? Food vs Price??

Rainforst Cafe in DTD - Is it the same as the ones in the other parts of uS? Is it worth it?If you have one at home, don't bother, they're all the same.

Turf Club - We will be at SSR and have heard it is good. We will not be doing to many full service restaurants and are thinking of this as one. Will this be a good choice?I've never been there, (hope to try it next year myself,) but I've heard many good things about it.

Boardwalk Bakery - opinions?? Excellant sweets!

ESPN Club - opinions????Never been, just doesn't appeal to me personally.

Earl of Sandwich - We need a CS either at DTD or at SSR, opinions???EoS is good, I like WPE better for CS, but for $5 you really can't beat EoS

Contempo Cafe - opinions???Love this! They have an amazing beef flatbread on their dinner menu that I highly reccomend.

AMC Dine In - Is this a good experience?? Food vs Price??From what I've read the prices are very reasonable, though you're already paying $13 I think the cost is for the movie. I would only do it if it was a movie I wanted to see anyway, then I think it would be a pretty good deal, plus I've heard you get free popcorn and soda refills served to you, which for me is always the worst part of the movies. If I want more soda I never get it, because I never want to miss any of the movie.

Rainforst Cafe in DTD - Is it the same as the ones in the other parts of uS? Is it worth it? It's the same. We are not fans.

Turf Club - We will be at SSR and have heard it is good. We will not be doing to many full service restaurants and are thinking of this as one. Will this be a good choice? Turf Club is a very nice restaurant; we've eaten here several times as we stay at SSR frequently.

Boardwalk Bakery - opinions?? It's okay.

ESPN Club - opinions???? My adult sons love this place. But honestly, they go there for the beer and nachos.

Earl of Sandwich - We need a CS either at DTD or at SSR, opinions??? Earl of Sandwich is much better than Artists Palette at SSR. AP has good food but the choices are very limited; EoS has a much larger variety.

Contempo Cafe - opinions??? It's alright but I wouldn't travel there just for the food.

AMC Dine In - Is this a good experience?? Food vs Price??
Have not tried it yet.

I can only answer a few:
Contempo Cafe - we just ate there for lunch 2 weeks ago. The food was very good. We don't normally do CS so I can't really compare it to others on property but we liked it.

Rainforest - yes this is the same one. I've never been to the one at Disney but thats because I hate the one near me. You'll get the same food.

Boardwalk Bakery - We didn't buy from them but the same food was at our conceirge breakfast every morning when we stayed last year and it was very, very good.

Earl of Sandwich - I've heard from people on here that it is good & the pictures that I've seen look yummy.

Wow! 17 days... I am uber-jealous ;)

Earl of Sandwich - yes. Loooove it. Lots of different unusual sandwiches. Do you have kids? I would suggest T-Rex cafe also, above Rainforest cafe, any day. Rainforest cafe is the same EVERYWHERE, but there just aren't many T-Rex cafes around. It's owned by the same company - so you will see similarities, but the dinosaurs are so cool. Go to Downtown DIsney for a day, have lunch (or breakfast) at Earl of Sandwich and Lunch or Dinner at T-Rex. Make ressies for T-Rex.

Boardwalk bakery - yummy for breakfast or lunch, not so much a dinner place in my eyes.

ESPN club - only if you have some MAJOR sports fans on your hands and/or teenage boys and sports-nut-men. Typical bar food. Nothing extraordinary to right home about, IMO.

Haven't been to the other places. I would also suggest Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. Super yummy and quite a bit different than normal eateries. But then again, I love me some guinness. :drinking1 They have lots of meals made with guinness, make sure to try the bread with guinness reduction....

great, now I'm hungry!!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for your suggestions, it is a big help. We are going to cancel the Rainforest Cafe ressie. We have done T rex but not in about 4 years so maybe try that again. If not I will figure something out. We will be at Saratoga Springs that day and are already trying turf and artist pallette there so would like something else good for the kids and convenient.

Going to keep turf club.

We are going to try boardwalk bakery for lunch after mini golf. We will be staying at the boardwalk a few nights.

Thinking maybe I will send DH over to the ESPN club by himself or with the boys and pick something else for me and the girls. We will see.

Going to try EOS cannot beat the price and menu looks like it has alot to offer

We will be at BLT for 1 night, I probably should point out we are hotel hoppers. lol

We will give amc a whirl.

Rainforst Cafe in DTD - Is it the same as the ones in the other parts of uS? Is it worth it? Yes it is the same as the others that are located in shopping malls throughout the US. I would skip it in favor of a more Disney place, unless you do not have one by you

Turf Club - We will be at SSR and have heard it is good. We will not be doing to many full service restaurants and are thinking of this as one. Will this be a good choice? I have read some great reviews, I would try it since you will be there anyways

Boardwalk Bakery - opinions?? Its ok, we usually stick to breakfast fare

ESPN Club - opinions???? Its good but your typical bar fod like CHilis or Fridays

Earl of Sandwich - We need a CS either at DTD or at SSR, opinions??? Sorry but I am not a fan...would much rather go to WPE

Contempo Cafe - opinions??? Its pretty good

AMC Dine In - Is this a good experience?? Food vs Price?? It is expensive but the food portions are large and the food is very good. The popcorn and drinks are free refills. Lunch for 2 with two sodas, 1 popcorn, 2 orders of chicken fingers was $48

Here's the ones that I've experienced:

Boardwalk Bakery - opinions?? Love it!

ESPN Club - opinions???? Fun atmosphere, decent 'bar' food

Earl of Sandwich - We need a CS either at DTD or at SSR, opinions??? I really, really like EoS. I LOVE Wolfgang Puck Express!

Contempo Cafe - opinions??? I can take it or leave it, so I say "meh". If you are looking for a good CS on the monorail line, I suggest Captain Cook's over at the Poly.
