I agree, too. I know it's just a matter of time before the PC people jump on and tell us how awful we all are, but I want to get my two cents in first.

The contraction thing gets me, too. I also hate when people put apostrophes when there should be none. Example: There was ton's of food . Argh!

Okay, you are right. There is such a thing as a "mute point", but most people use it incorrectly.
Someone even defended the phrase to me on here before. She said she did mean "mute" rather than "moot", because she was referring to a phrase that falls on deaf ears. It was a creative way to defend her misuse of words, at least. If we're going to mangle the phrase, I greatly prefer the term "Moo point".
