Advice wanted- solo day on standby- which park?

I would go to animal kingdom and take your time exploring. Depending on what day you go, you should be able to get into many of the shows without Fastpass or waiting in crazy lines (flights of wonder, Nemo, lion king). We were just there yesterday and kicked ourselves for arriving at 11am instead of opening because there is truly so much can to explore. You can have the late fast passes and just do some rides like primeval whirl, dinosaur without passes when the wait times are 15-30mins (likely right after lunch). There are a few trails to see animals that we didn't get to experience and walk thru tree of life / discovery island which is great. You can take your time and not be rushed.

JMHO, but I would do the Epcot Showcase. There's plenty of great QS, if you don't want TS. You can spend as much or as little time as you like exploring each country or just selected favorites. I love to explore so it usually takes me 3-4 hours or so, but you can skip the films or skip the shops (I surely can't do THAT!!) and save time. It's also a great place to be incase it is raining....lots of "inside". Like, I said...just my opinion, but whatever you decide, enjoy!!

I'm trying to understand what you mean in the first part of your message -- that "the first one won't start until approx. 1pm after airport arrival." Are you just trying to figure out whether you should just do Animal Kingdom w/FP+ for the Jungle Book show on your arrival day or if you should do it on a different day but, but want advice on what park to do with stand-by in the morning on a different day? If that's the case, I think the park that the crowds build the slowest in the morning would be Magic Kingdom -- so you could do the "most" there without FP+.

Having said that, I love Animal Kingdom and think there is a lot to do there that doesn't require any wait time...so by hitting a few headliners at rope drop (i.e. Safari, EE, Dinosaur), you could then spend a few hours just doing shows (Lion King, Nemo, Flights of Wonder) and walking the different trails, checking out Harambe Market, checking out planet watch, etc. and then use your FP+ for a few things in the late afternoon/evening.

We are doing AK for 2 nights, both with FP+. One morning, we will go to AK and ride stuff that will get repeated later and stuff that won't be open later. For instance, the safari will be quite different during the day versus the night. The other AK day, we will head to Epcot at rope drop and pick one of the tier 1 to do right then and then Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, and you could do the nonbusy stuff too.

We are RD people who rest/swim in the afternoon then return for evening shows and a ride or two. We just like to be more flexible in the evening and we are rarely in the parks for the hottest and most crowded afternoon time...
We are visiting AK for JB and night safari and whatever else we can get done on our arrival day, so that the rest of our trip's FP+s can be as early as possible.

I would do AK on your arrival day! I would FP+ Jungle Book, Everest and the sunset Safari. The rest you can do standby and also just walk around and enjoy the animal trails, outdoor shows, etc. With the new late closing, you will get a lot done at AK from 1 - 11 pm.

Otherwise, if you want to split one of your days, I would rope drop MK, and then go to AK with FP+ in the afternoon.
