Afternoon all.

Well only just over seven months to go until our next trip at Easter, and we are already thinking about 2010! :cool1: :cool1:

We have been lucky enough to be able to have 2 holidays a year for the last few years - WDW at Easter and a Med bucket and spade fortnight - this year was Rhodes which was lovely. Already booked both holidays for next year (POP Century and Zante), but our mortgage fixed rate ends soon and realistically 2 holidays will be impossible in 2010. Now I’m not complaining, I know its not a tragic occurrence to go down from 2 to 1 holidays a year.

Upshot is that we have decided we love Disney too much to let it go so, the Med gets the boot and we will visit Florida in the summer instead of Easter. We were thinking of the first 2 weeks in July (we’re in Scotland so earlier summer holidays). Although we might make it July 6th to avoid the July 4th crowds. I looked on Virgin today and there are still places left for 2009, does anyone have any idea of how long could leave booking July 2010? I’m saving Tesco vouchers so the longer the better.

What about the weather? Easter this year was early and got a bit chilly first thing. I like it hot - but that’s to sunbath in……will we find July in Florida too much for a whole days trekking about?

What about crowds? We’re used to Easter being packed - how will early July compare?

Any opinions will be greatly appreciated!

The earliest I have been able to book for Orlando through Virgin was the February for the next year's July holiday. I booked in May this year because the Universal hotels were not in their earlier pre official summer brochure. I also found the holiday went up by about £1200 later in the year.

Hi - we go next Easter too.

To be honest, and it depends on your tolerance levels to a degree but in some ways I feel July is the worst month to go.

The heat is close to unbearable and whilst the crowds not quite as bad as Easter it is much more crowded in July than it is during the rest of the summer.

I like the weather hot too, but the problem in July is can get close to 100degrees, and even the locals find it hard work - touring the theme parks can be difficult especially if you have young children.

July is very hot we used to go every year the first week (July 4th) as that was when our vacation was. The heat can be anywhere from mid 80's to high 90's or 100's. It is not the heat alone though, it is the high humidity. You will litterally walk out your door and start sweating. But that can be true for any time from July through late Aug and early Sept. Crowds will be large as July is the biggest vacation month in the US, as some children start back to school in early August.:goodvibes

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Perhaps we should reconsider Easter 2010 (less Tesco vouchers though) and no summer holiday. :sad1:

Although of course I will have won the lottery by then!

Thanks all
