Hello

I'm looking at a last-minute trip in mid-August. Flights from Toronto are insane, predictably but I'm increasingly worried that this is a window where I can travel instead of a sign of things headed in a general good direction (especially with yesterday's news) and so I'm about to pull the trigger.

Flights from Detroit, comparatively are insanely cheap.

Does anyone have any experience using a shuttle to cross at Windsor to DTW? I'm having trouble getting a handle on how much it would actually cost. Would appreciate a recommendation of a company and if it saved you money/hassle.

I have a good handle on what I would have to do if I fly, test wise but I'm interested in experiences with that also.

Bonus marks if you want to rent me a space in your driveway in Windsor!

Thanks in advance.

sorry to tell you that it's not possible to cross the land border for non-essential reasons until at least August 21st so you can't take a shuttle into the states for a cheaper flight. You will have heard about people using that type of transportation to return to Canada since the land border has never been closed to citizens.

The land border to the US is closed until at least August 21st. You can't take a shuttle.

Windsor Mayor Dilkens had concocted a vaccination scheme where Canadians were to shuttle via golf cart right up to the boarder in the tunnel, and have US technicians jab us from their side: no one actually crosses the boarder.

In my head I thought of falling out of the cart and onto the US side and somehow making my way to Disney.

Sadly the mayor's plan never came to fruition.

Ah. I thought you could walk across at Buffalo or take a shuttle across. Maybe it's only coming back...
