I am showing my ignorance here a little, but after perusing page after page of ticket prices I just need confirmation from you good people that we can purchase at the gate a three day hopper plus pass for the parks.

We spent a lot of time at Disney last time, in 2001 and so want to spread ourselves out a little this time around, by this I mean we are spending a few days at Universal, which we havent done since the early nineties (remember them??) and a bit of time on the Gulf Coast, so dont need a 5 or 7 day pass.

The price I have seen is $165 for the oldies and $132 for the youngsters, at todays rates £82 and £66.

Can anybody confirm that I could pick them up at the gate please??

Sorry to burst your bubble, but my understanding is that you can't purchase a 3-day hopper plus from the gates, neither is this pass easily available elsewhere.

The 3-day hopper plus is usually a promotional ticket available through selected outlets or for conventions, but you may strike lucky and find a suitable promotion for your trip. Keep your eyes on the DIS budget board and the various ticket agency websites :)

Hilary,
That link doesnt seem to work on the forum for some reason, but as stated, if you go to the Alamo car hire website, and wander through to the link to Disney, then put in your visit dates, state you are from Belgium, the 3 day hopper pass shows there as above giving the $165 price??

we were interested in 3 day hoppers but how do you pretend to be flemish with a uk address?

Good question, we intend to turn up at the gate and see what is available, the above link is accessible direct from the WDW USA website, and again it shows that there is available on the gate a 3 day hopper plus pass for $165, surely they can not discriminate non-belgians. If we cant get the 3 day hopper plus, it will have to back to the 1 day pay ay the gate tickets, which with the excellent exchange rates (still hanging on ( makes it reasonable to pay at the door if you dont want a 5,7 10 day pass. At $1.80 to the £ entry for an adult is only £30 a day?

LOL! :teeth:

I thought the Alamo web site offer had expired, but there are posts on the Budget board from US posters who have been successful in buying these over the phone.

It sounds as though other nationalities can still buy through Alamo; and I really don't know the answer to 3-day passes being available at the gate - I was pretty sure you couldn't get them (but maybe you can if your Flemish is up to it! )

Steve, are you likely to be visiting WDW again? If so, you may find that buying a 4 day (or more) hopper at current exchange rates is more of a 'bargain' than three 1-day, 1-park tickets at the gate. At least you'd have a plus option (or 2 or 3 or 4!) to play with as well as being able to hop from park to park, which the single day tickets don't allow. If you are returning in the future any unused days or plus options can be kept for then.
