What dining experiences (restaurants and/or character dining) are absolutely not-to-be-missed in our situation? We are taking DS9 (an Asperger's child who eats very few things, enjoys very few characters, and is prone to sensory overload) and DD3 (will turn 4 on our trip!) who completely embraces life and finds joy in all it has to offer....and particularly LOVES princesses!!!! DS (whom I love to the ends of the earth, have no doubt) is unpredictable and usually hard to please, so we want to make dining plans that will make DD happy but that DS can tolerate.

We have done CM for breakfast twice (ready to try something different), and we did Crystal Palace last year. We always plan Rainforest Cafe (b/c DS actually likes it now that he knows to expect the regular 'storm'...that first time was a challenge, though! :lovestruc). What else should we plan?

- Akershus Breakfast - It is relatively quiet and we saw all the princesses (Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, & Ariel) while there in September. There is a buffet of pastries and cold items, and they bring the traditional breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, cheesy breakfast potatoes, etc) to the table. It was the calmest of all the character buffets we did last trip.

- Garden Grill - is a relatively calm, quiet character dinner. You sit in your own semi-private booth area, the restaurant rotates, and the characters come around but you can wave them on if you dont want them to stop at your table. The only thing here is the food is a preset menu, though I have heard they will bring standard chicken nuggets and fries if the kids dont like the food. Otherwise the food here is great and it is a cool experience as the restaurant rotates slowly while you eat.

For a character breakfast, I highly recommend Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club!

I've eaten there numerous times. I've also eaten at CM and its a little "too much" for me between all the people and the napkin throwing and singing. Cape May has minnie, goofy, chip and dale (I'm pretty sure my memory is correct here). The food is better, IMO, than CM, and the characters are wonderful. Its subdued but still fun and I think you really get good interaction here. Plus as a bonus, you can walk to Epcot when you are done eating and enter through the International Gateway in World Showcase!
