Hi guys its been a while since on the boards. Have had a very turbulant time at home, and sad to say that its just me in my little girl now.

Anyway the advice i am after is, DD and i are still planning on going on our trip DCL and AKL. DO I NEED A LETTER TO SAY THAT DD IS ABLE TO TRAVEL WITHOUT BOTH PARENTS.

SMALL PRINT IN THE BROUCHURE STATES THAT SOME COUNTRIES REQUIRE A LETTER IF BOTH PARENTS ARE NOT TRAVELLING.

I'M SLIGHTLY APREHENSIVE IT BEING JUST DD AND I.

Sorry i don't know the answer to your question. But wanted to send my best to you both+sorry to hear of your news.
You will both have a fantastic holiday-the 2 of you,it is no doubt what you will need now more than ever.Have a fantastic time.x.

Sorry to hear your news. I have travelled many times to Florida with just my DS and have never required a letter. In fact, when we took my DH's niece (who has a completely different surname) we had a letter from SiL but didn't need that either. I'm not 100% sure about the cruise but I remember friends of mine taking their two DGDs and DCL didn't ask for any proof that their parents were happy for them to travel... :confused3

I hope that helps a little... :goodvibes

:grouphug::grouphug: You deserve this holiday more than anything now. I can't see that you will need a letter, the only problem might come is if you and your DD have different surnames, but even then I think its rare.

sorry to hear that, hope you and your dd have a fantastic time

So sorry to hear your news. I hope you and your DD have a fantastic holiday together :thumbsup2

Hi there! So sorry to hear your sad news. I have had a similar situation and I'm a single dad taking three to WDW this summer on my own for the first time. They are all under10.
I have travelled with them to other places and never got a letter from my ex. I've never encounted any problems. You only need a letter like this if there is a real threat that you are planning to remove your child overseas permanantly. This is usually highlighted during the divorce and port authoritites would have been alerted.
I know this as I'm a barrister in this area.

Have a great trip!

I have travelled with my nephew and never needed any documentation. I'm sure you'll all have a wonderful time as it's a 'Happy Place'.

Mum used to take me to New York a lot when I was a child and she never needed a letter.

Hope you both have a magical time :wizard:

Last year my DS joined us half way into our holiday with DGS - he did have a letter of consent from his ex-girlfriend, but was never asked for anything. But sods law if you dont have something they're bound to ask for something....
have a wonderful time, it sounds as though you both need it....

So sorry to hear your news but I'm sure you and DD will have a fantastic time

Thank you very much for the kind thoughts.

DD is busy planning our holidays, i managed to change SSR to AKV Savanah view. She was slightly disappointed that we could not get Bay Lake.

Am planning on MNSSHP party and informed DD that she can have a BBB the basic package.
She thinks she is going to design her costume for the firay god mother in training to make. WHAT A AM PLANNING TO DO IS BOOK THE CASTLE PACKAGE AS SURPRISE.

Can anyone help, or advise. Using DVC for stay and cruise however i am becoming slightly confused with the tickets. (YOU WOULD THINK I HAD NEVER BEEN BEFORE) LOL

Not sure whether to get the 5 five day base ticket, not sure whether to add on the park hopper, etc on.

and is anyone going Oct 15 time.
