i need advice on TS at Dowtown Disney. I had planned on goingt o planet hollywood but someone suggested giveing that a miss. WHat other table service would you recomend?

Also, on our first night i want to go and explore the epcot area hotels (yatch and beach, boardwalk)

thanks for your help

I suggest the Wolfgang Puck Cafe. The food is delicious!:thumbsup2

No problem exploring the Boardwalk. I'm not really sure what you're asking, do you want dining suggestions for the Boardwalk area?

You will get varying opinions. No way would I give Wolfgang a try. I would take Planet Hollywood over that any day. But that's just me...
Bongo's is very good. As is House of Blues.
It depends on what type of food you like. You could even try the Irish pub, Raglan Road.
DTD has a variety of choices, and all pretty good.
The Boardwalk offers Spoodles, Flying Fish, or Big River Grille (brewery), among others. BRG is more informal if you wish something more along that style.

since you are going to Boardwalk anyway, maybe you might want to look into Cape May or Beaches and Cream for TS...

I vote for Wolfgang Puck Cafe. That was one of our favorite restaurants! Wonderful meal.

Didn't want to put Planet Hollywood down too much, It really looks like a unique place on the outside. We went back in 2001 and it was basically a hambuger and BBQ place, but now I see on the menus there are more choices, but back in 2001 what stood out was the tables were so close together even the waiters had a hard time getting thru, but again that was back in 2001. Maybe things have changed and maybe there are some that have just gone and can give a better opinion. You would have plenty of time to switch your ADR's being so far out. This year we are going to try Captain Jacks in DDD but have never been there and there are mixed reviews about that place also. So you never know, even LE Cellier which seems to me to be the best ranked place has people that didn't seem to care for it.
I know that you are far away and want to get all the best places but each person has their own opinion. Maybe you can go to Deb AllEars Site the restautants are rated there.
Remember half the fun is planning and at 180 day you have time. :thumbsup2

My kids and I had a great meal at Planet Hollywood last year. The only reason that we aren't going back this year is bcause I wanted to try all new places and since I started planning earlier I was able to get into lots of places that were booked last year. Last year we decided to go a little more last minute so we had lots of late night ADRs. We never ate breakfast because we were still full from eating dinner at 10pm!

Hi. I'm having the same dilema...I originally booked at Planet H. but then read really bad reviews on allearsnet...so then I switched to Capt. Jacks, which seems to have better reviews..

I have one spot left to book yet and I am still confused:confused3 about where to go for that. Some of the restaurants sound great, but then when you look at the menu's, yuk...

also I don't want to waist 2ts on one restaurant as I only have 3 days worth to spend...

I was thinking about brew works on the boardwalk, any comments? I read some bad and some good reviews...it's not really clear. :yay:

We are booked at Raglan Road at DTD and Spoodles at the Boardwalk. No personal experience, but based on reviews and menues.

We tryed to call and get ADR's for Brew Works the last week in Sept. and we called in April and were told that they only take walk-ups. But then I seen on one of the threads that they have their own number to call and book , don't know if that is correct or not. Didn't want to chance a walk-up during free dining so we booked somewhere else. We will give that place a wing some other time.
How about Kona or Ohana at Polly you can take the Mono from Magic
Kingdom.

just getting back to this thread...funny you should mention Kona, that's the one I picked and booked this morning.....the reviews sound pretty good, and after all I always wanted to check out the polly..I've always wanted to stay there...oh well some day, maybe....

as far as brew works, maybe we'll just walk up and see what happens..do you know if they just do appitizers/drinks or are they strickly sit down TS..??
(unfortunately, I am going the week before free dining, due to school demands...)

Me and DW did Kona last year thought the food was really good, Poly is beautiful but the rooms are tooo expensive for us but maybe someday. This year we are going to Ohana which is on the same level but over to the right of Kona. Never been to Ohana but would eventually like to try all the restaurants and have my own opinion. To tell you the truth Me and DW are not real picky we tend to like all the different food.
I have no idea if Brew Works just has a bar where you can just have a few of their brews and a few apps. I'll have to find out if they do I would like to try that.

Here is the menu for Big River Grill. What I like about this place is the outdoor seating. You can sit and watch the folks on the BW walk by, see the friendship boats, the lighthouse at the Y&BC. I won't eat inside. It is very loud, IMO and not the atmosphere I want. I haven't eaten here in a while, but from what I remember the menu was ok. Not fantastic wow, but ok.

I am not a spoodles fan. They took away the bread pudding from their breakfast menu and I haven't gotten over it yet:rolleyes:

For DTD, we usually go to Wolfgang Puck. Again, another place I enjoy sitting outside when the weather permits. Love their sushi and DH always finds somethinghe enjoys.
