Good Morning,

Our first spring break trip is getting close! We typically are rope drop people but have never been when fireworks, parades, and fantasmic are so late. If we keep the kids up late for 10:00 fireworks, or 8:30 fantasmic, etc. How do we still get them up and out for rope drop the next morning? We do plan to take breaks during the afternoon (although with the new FP procedures, we will have to see how that goes!)

Any experience or advice would be appreciated. Oh and my kids are 9, and 6.

Thanks!

Mid day breaks is our answer to that.

Typically our kids go to bed between 9-930 at home and are up everyday well before RD at the parks, between 6-7am so it's not a big shock to thier regular routine. My kids are the same age and we hit RD everyday, we also stay in the parks later and do the evening shows but we take a break everyday for at least an hour or two, including a mandatory quiet time of 20 minutes. That means laying or sitting down somewhere not talking or playing w/ something (we typically are in a double bet room so laying works best) we shut the shades, cut off the lights, generally will leave the TV on but DS almost always takes a bap and DD9 does about 90% of the time. We have been doing this for the past couple of years and it works out great, gives us time to rest, gives our feet a break and cools us off. The rest of the break sometimes we swim, sometimes stay in the room, etc.

This is our first Spring Break trip too and I'm hoping that DD and I will be able to hit rope drop each morning and still be able to enjoy the parks in the later evening hours.

I plan to do what the PP said and take afternoon breaks each day. If its warm enough to swim we'll swim for a bit and just relax at the pool or even go to the room and nap before heading back to the parks for the evening.

Worried about the same thing. My girls are sleepers and we are going to try to squeeze as much into each day we are there that we can. Interested to see how it all works out! :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Our kids are not morning people. So, we've only been to a couple of rope drops. My DD loves to time Splash Mountain to see the fireworks while on the ride. So, we stay late, not early.

I agree that afternoon times to rest are imparative, whether you go early or stay late. The middle seems to make both possible. Okay, and I poor a martini about that time as well. See, there are ways of making the adults not cranky too.:rotfl:

We have done spring break several times and been there by rope drop most days. By the third day, I can't get MYSELF out of bed! Definitely plan some sleep in time! :) Then again, I'm not a napper.

Can I just jump in here and ask ... what happens if you take a break and return to find out park is at capacity - do they allow readmission, or are you just out of luck? TIA!
