Hi guys.

I'm hoping a more experienced DIS crafter can give me some words of wisdom.

I'm trying my hand at some DISigns but my brain is short circuiting on the knotty problem of curving text to a circle.:confused3:confused3 What I am trying to create is a DISign that will work as a badge button and ideally I would like to make the text fit neatly on the inside of the circle but I'm stumped at how to proceed. :confused3:confused3

Has anyone any advice they can share?:thumbsup2

TIA

unless you have top notch software (like Photoshop), curved text in a complete circle may not be possible. what software are you trying to use? I had to buy add-ons to my Photoshop Elements since the feature was not part of the package.....and that add-on blew up a couple weeks ago.

So sorry to hear of your troubles RMF.

I'm using an ancient version of Corel Paint Shop Pro. It has suited my purposes pretty well until now but this seems a bit illusive

The only one I know of, besides Photoshop is Adobe Illustrator or maybe MS Word Art, which is limiting.

you can add a new layer, then go to your preset shapes.
draw a circle, add new layer, click on your text tool and move your cursor to the circle.
you will see that there is a half circle under the A.. make sure you see that, now type your text and it should show up as curved text..
make sure it is on a new layer so you can rotate it or play around with it a bit.

(hope this makes sense, I have psp as well)

Thanks for your advice. I have finally figures how to do text on the OUTSIDE of a circle so with a bit of playing about I should be able to get the effect I needed. I'll give your suggestions a try though - always keen to try a new technique.

If you want the text inside the circle... go to the layer with the circle and flip the circle ... that way the text goes inside the circle.. :goodvibes

works for other shapes as well ( even with a mickeyhead).. just make sure you see the curve under the A ..
