Advice please - CR/MK to Epcot area

Next Thursday night I’m having dinner at the Cal Grill and should be ready to leave immediately after the fireworks. I’m trying to see Wishes (from the CG) and still make it to Epcot in time for Illuminations. The problem is that I’ll be leaving at the same time as the hoards of people leaving the MK. What do you think would be easier/faster/less crowded… Take the monorail (btw can anyone tell me which direction it runs from the CR to the TTC, clockwise or counter-clockwise)? Or take a bus to an Epcot resort instead, since we could walk to the MK bus stop pretty quickly and maybe beat the people coming out of the MK. Any ideas?

I'd say just take the 'rail. The TTC is the next stop, and you'll probably beat the mad rush.
