As I work in a school I am very much tied to school holidays.

However the Govs have allowed me to have an extra week off next year to go to Florida (yippeee)

What would you do ....

Either go for three weeks (2 weeks Easter school hols and then an extra week either and the beginning or the end of the easter break)

OR

Go in Feb half term hols and have two weeks out in Florida - a week normal school hols and then either a week before or a week after making a 2 week holiday.

Finding the cost at Easter very expensive - and now it looks like the flights will be very scarce indeed

I'd be tempted to go for 3 weeks, but have heard that Easter is really busy & expensive.

I think I would go for 3 weeks. February can be really busy too with Presidents Day and the Daytona 500. Generally the weather will be better at Easter and you don't have to visit the parks during the Easter weekend if you are there for 3 weeks - plenty of other days for that

What about the May holiday, are you allowed to add time to that school holiday? This is a very nice time to go. Less rain, not too hot, cheap hotel prices and no American kids on holiday.

As you have an extra week, can you add a few days to before and after the holidays as travelling either at the start of the end of a school holiday puts the price up. I have found in the pas that if you travel on say the Wednesday or Thursday before a school holiday then it is much, much cheaper. Same goes for the end of school holiday.

It may be too late to get a good price for Easter, but as I said May or even October may be possible.

Yes, I would suggest May also. It's a lovely time of year, and the weather and crowds are as good as they get.

Avoid Easter if you can though!

I would say the Whit week in may ( but for us my DD's get 2 week's ), we've been at this time on 3 occasions now. It's hot but it is notorious for many thunder storms, but who cares your in Florida

i would think about oct,we have found this,a great time to go.crowds manageable & weather great.plus i love the mnsshp.i just wish it would hurry up & get here!!!!!

I would go for the 3 weeks if money allowed but if not either oct or febuary crowds will be that bit lighter.

whatever you decide im sure you will have a great time.

I would go with October too .. I personally would never go at Easter I just couldn't contemplate a packed park so if only Easter or Feb I would go with Feb
