Hi
We are coming to disneyland for the first time from Australia end of september, but having a lot of trouble deciding where is the best place to stay.
We ideally would like 2 rooms and kids 5 and 8 yrs coming with us and we all sleep better if not all in the same room:)
I want to be within easy walking distance to the parks, we dont want to have to worry about shuttles etc. Breakfast or a minni kitchen would be nice too.
Park Vue inn only has their 2 room suit available for the first 4 nights of our 7 night stay.
Looks like best western Anaheim inns 2 room suits are sold out for our dates, have emailed to confirm just waiting on reply.
BWPPI could be ok but there breakfast room is being upgraded during our stay which is putting me off.
Tropicana has a disney 2 room suit available for our dates, but no breakfast or kitchenette, price could be better but ok, do like thats its close though.
HoJos has nothing available for our dates.
Del sol inn have bunk bed rooms and breakfast but then we are all in the same room (great price though!)
Desert inn and suits have a suit left but its over our budget at over $3k AUD for the week.
We like the sound of the new marriott that opening in August, but booking for September wont be until later and with no idea of real pricing yet and what the rooms will be like i dont really like the idea of just waiting and hoping its ok and opens on time.
Caousel inn has no suits left for our dates.
Fairfield inn has no suits either.
The disney hotels are out of our budget for the week. Athough contemplated a split stay between paradise Pier and the park vue but not really keen on switching hotels on what could be our only free day to relax (although hoping for a MHP scheduled for that night fingers crossed.
So where else haven't i though of yet that could work? Or what would you do? :)

Try Stanford Inn And Suites. We stayed in a 2-bath kids suite and it was great, two rooms with a door in between so kids are in one and adults in the other. It's a little further from the park but definitely walkable, but if it's late and you're sleepy you can take the free Toy Story lot shuttle halfway back. Our room had a fridge and microwave which worked fine for us.

They had a hot breakfast free every day which was GREAT. Egg/sausage patties, bread for toast, jam and pb (we made pb&js more than once), an amazing waffle iron, juice and milk, cereal, oatmeal (you might call it porridge in AU?), yogurt, etc.

It may not be as fancy as some other places but it'll save you plenty of money if you book early.

Have you tried the Camelot? Or Soringhill Suites Convention Center?

I was going to suggest Camelot as well, but just a heads up, they don't do breakfast anymore.

Have you checked Ramada Maingate? I haven't stayed there, but have read good things.

What do you consider walking distance? That might help with some suggestions as my family is fine with a 1 mile walk and for others it's too far.

Have you considered the Anaheim Island Inn and Suites? They have true two-room suites, continental breakfast, micro and fridge, plus free parking if you want to rent a car. Not sure of availability -- suites seem to go fast! That, and I'm not sure what your definition of walkable is.

We loved Desert Palms. I had a one bedroom suite with 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a full size sofabed in the living room and the door closes between the 2. We had a full size stove/oven, microwave, full size refrigerator, dishes, utensils pots and pans etc. We ordered some food from Vons to have waiting in the room with perishables put away. There is an outdoor pool and hottub surrounded by the building so not visible from the streets. The hotel had a decent free breakfast every day which we ate before going to the parks for early entrance. There is a daily free breakfast which we ate before going to the parks for early entrance. It took us 10 minutes from the door of the hotel to walk to either park and we did not have to cross any main streets since we were on the same side as the parks. The hotel is next door to 7/11 which is on the corner. Walk to the corner and cross the street and you have a few different shuttles and its 1 shuttle stop to the parks and 1 coming back if you decide not to walk.

Depending on your definition of walking distance, look at the Residence Inn on Clementine (hot breakfast and evening manager's specials). Also the Springhill Suites on Katella at Harbor. I think the Portofino has a family suite. You can check the price of a suite vs. 2 connecting rooms. The larger chain hotels (e.g. Sheraton Park, Anaheim Hilton, and the Marriott Convention Center) will have connecting rooms and may have good deals available. If you can be further from the park (definitely not walking distance, but good shuttle service), the Embassy Suites Garden Grove might work (good hot breakfast and manager's specials at night). Also, 2 connecting rooms at the Candy Cane Inn might work (continental breakfast, private shuttle, walking distance).

We have a big party- 7 people (4 adults, 3 children), and we got a 2 room, 4 queen bed suite at Anaheim Islander Inn and Suites for $170 a night. It's one block from the park, about a 10-15 minute walk. Free parking, heated pool, continental breakfast, fridge/microwave in the room. I can't complain! :)

Try getting 2 rooms at Park Vue. They have connecting rooms. Breakfast is very good. Also there's no parking fees. Wherever you choose, ask about parking fees. They add up. Have a blast

It sounds like you're going during a busy week. Have you looked into the Quality Inns? There is one near HOJO (on Manchester I think) and one on Katella right across from the Paradise Pier Hotel parking. They're often reasonable, both are walkable, and they serve a hot breakfast. The one on Katella is older and therefore cheaper.
