Hi

I'd like some advice on excursions please. Our family of 4 is going on our first Dis Cruise in August.

We need to decide between the St John or the St Thomas Island tour. Any views on which is better?

We have youngish children hence the snorkel/sports trips are not an option for us.

Many thanks

D

I've read and heard that St. John is one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean. I can't comment on the specific tours however.

its a small trek to get over to St. John's it includes a taxi ride and ferry ride. Definitely doable but you need to decide how your young children would do. beautiful beaches on both. St. Thomas you only need to do a taxi ride to get to the beaches. Magen's Bay, Saphire Beach are beautiful. There is the Paradise Point tram ride at the pier, doesn't fill a whole day though.

I did the submarine excursion with my DS6 and he (and I) loved it. took the morning, we came back had lunch and DW went in to do some shopping at Charlotte Amalie.

We are going in Aug also. This is our first cruise. From everything I have been reading on these boards we have decided to go the trunk bay beach in St. Johns. Everyone says its beautiful. Not to long ago I saw it on a TV show, listed as one of the "top ten most beautiful beaches". Can't wait to see it.

You might want to check out Coral World. Not sure of your children's ages but it seems to be geared towards all.
We did the Trunk Bay Snorkel and Beach excursion because my youngest doesn't like to snorkel. It was a beautiful long beach with shallow waters to play in and large trees if you needed a break from the sun. The drive over was interesting and fairly quick (in case of restless kids). They have a snack stand and restrooms.
