Love the Poly Love POR. Can't for the life of me decide which hotel for a 6 night stay in May. Now I'm thinking first two nights at POR & last four nights at the Poly. Tickets & dining plan stuff are not an issue. For those of you that have done splits, how do you feel? Does it make your trip feel interrupted or does it give you the best of both? How do you make it easier on yourself? Any advice, opinions & tips are most welcome. Someone has to help me!!!! p.s. we just stayed at the Poly for 4 nights in Sept & it rained alot, so felt like we didn't get to enjoy resort. Stayed at POR for 7 nights last May & kind of miss it. I guess I don't want to choose one & then miss the other & regret it. Blabble blabble blabble!!!!!!

We just did a split stay and thought it went well. I was prepared for the inconvenience of re-packing so it didn't seem like such a chore. The resorts do a great job of making it easy. We needed to be in a park early for an ADR the day we switched and the bellhops were up to our room in minutes and it didn't take them any time at all to tag everything and give us our receipt. At the second resort, our bags were brought very quickly after we got to our room. They had informed us that our luggage couldn't be delivered untill after 3:00 pm (or somewhere around there) so I packed a small bag of stuff I thought we would need before then (ie swimsuits, diapers...) and the second resort stored it while we went into a park until our villa was available. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

We just returned from a split stay at the WL and AKL. We really enjoyed staying at 2 different places. It was kind of like having 2 separate vacations. The theming is so different, so we enjoyed exploring each of the resorts. We rented a car, so we moved ourselves. Our room was ready at the AKL at noon, so we weren't without our luggage at all. We decided not to go to the parks on the day we moved. We just packed up, moved, and enjoyed the pool the rest of the evening. :) Good luck with your vacation planning. (I loved the Poly when we stayed there.)

DH and i nearly always do spilt stays. I guess we are fortunate that packing for the two of us is easier than doing if for a larger family though! We enjoy it, as it is almost like having 2 different holidays in one. We have done AKL + WL, CBR + WL, AKL + Poly + Dolphin and just got home 2 weeks ago from the WL+Poly. Both great resorts though we probably prefer the WL followed by AKL, but the location of the Poly is just so good and we were in Samoa on the 3rd floor, with an amazing view of the pool looking across the lake to GF and wedding pavilion. Each time the move has been easy. We tend to just unpack one bag for each stay, so have less to repack when the time comes to move and then going home!! We phone bell hop in the morning, they come and collect the bags and have them transferred by mid afternoon to your new resort. We go and check in and either go the parks for a few hours or sit by the pool and wait until the room is ready. Once in, call bellhop and the bags are then delivered. Great service. Have fun and enjoy.

Not for us, did one once and didn't care for it. We're the pair of peopple that like to unload, put the groceries away, toiletries out and clothes stored and never have to see the suitcases till the last day. We settle in, take a libation down to the pool and chill. Living out of a suitcase for a few days to make a split stay packing easier is no fun, then checking out and re-checking in again and the whole process of laying out the room for a few more days and then packing up and going home, for what? Yeah, I seen 2 different resorts, could have seen it on another trip and fully enjoyed the first one and my stay by staying put.

Others swear by split stays, just can't see the point. We have no ambition to stay at every resort on property, have done quite a few deluxes and have our favs down to a couple. We check the rates and decide where we want to spend most of our time while there and thats where we hang for 10 nights. Even after 10 nights leaving is so hard, we never want to go. We visit quite a few resorts while there, certain lounges with entertainment, so food courts, and some just for different feel and transportation but we feel real good returning to our "home" we set up on first day arrival.
