I have part of my contract I need to sell. The last time I sold through the Timeshare Store, DVC took it through the right of first refusal. I have two questions.

1- Should I go directly to DVC first to sell it or it does it matter.

2 - The points aren't good until April 2009. Should I wait a year??

Thanks

Is this an add-on or a portion of your master contract?

I thought if you sold a contract that it was either all or nothing.

WHile it has been reported that Disney will buy back contracts, it depends upon if it is a esort they need points for. Also, it has been reported that they only pay about $50 to $55 per point on a direct buy back. I would definately go with a reseller.

2) I wouldn't worry about the stripped contract at all since it's a smaller contract. Ie. no need to wait. I sold a stripped 128 pt contract very quickly. Some buyers are eager for the smaller contracts and don't care about waiting for points. And you paying the 2008 dues is a added bonus.

As far as I know, Disney won't buy back a stripped contract (ie one without current use year points). They can't turn around and sell it to someone wanting it, if it doesn't have current use year points.

They ROFR stripped contracts all the time. They really dont care, because they can use their own points to make the contract whole again. The seller paying dues is what they are more interested in, because it can lower the cost per point.
