I'm having trouble deciding what to do on one of our trip days. We (my boyfriend and I- no kids) headed to AK on our second day at RD and will stay until mid-afternoon/we've ridden EE as many times as we can stand. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the rest of our day. We've never explored any resorts and I'd really like to check out something new! Here is what I've narrowed it down to, suggestions appreciated...

1. Finish at AK, take bus to AKL. Explore AKL. Late lunch at Sanaa. Head back to hotel to have a night in/swim. Dinner at CSR if still hungry.

2. Finish at AK, take the bus back to the resort for nap/swim. Take bus to MK and explore monorail resorts. Dinner at Wave or Kona Cafe.

3. Finish at AK, take the bus back to the resort for nap/swim. Take bus to MK and boat over to WL, explore and have dinner at Whispering Canyon.

4. Finish at AK, take the bus back to the resort for nap/swim. Take bus to HS or EP and then walk over to BC/YC/Boardwalk and eat at one of the zillion options they have over there. Stick around and watch Illuminations from there (if that is possible).

For reference, on this trip we already have reservations at Narcoossee's, Le Celier and Biergarten. We're staying at CSR. We have RD at MK the next morning.

I'd go with option 2 or 3. I'd personally prefer 3 over 2, because WL is simply my favorite resort at WDW, but with option 2, you'd have a chance to see more resorts and try out more restaurants, etc. because of the monorail access.

Keep in mind that with option 3, you could also pretty easily hop on the boat to FW from WL. There are a few things to do at FW as well. If Hoop De Doo is going the night you're doing this, that could be something else to do. HDD is at Settlement Hall within FW.

That is the option I would also choose. For those exact reasons. If you are going anytime in December the decorations at WL are amazing.

I'm going in January for the half marathon.

I think the HDDR sounds fun, but I'm not sure my boyfriend would love it.

You could head over to Port Orleans take a walk around the grounds or do a carriage ride, have dinner and see Yee Haw Bob! You could also do dinner DTD and take a boat to Port Orleans.

If you eat at the Poly (Kona) you could watch Wishes from the beach and watch the boat parade. Even grab a Lapu Lapu at the pool bar.

5. Head back to the resort for nap/swim. Later take bus to MK and do a loop on the monorail. Have dinner somewhere along the way. Finish at the Contemporary and then take the boat to the WL for a nightcap at the Territory Lounge. :)

I'd go for options 2 or 3 as well, but I'd lean towards 2 if your goal is to see more hotels, especially if you are considering them for future trips. The monorail resorts are all impressive. If you have time you can also combine 2 & 3 if you want & just go to the WL from the boat at the CR or get off the monorail at MK & take the boat from there. You'd get 4 resorts in that way.

Since this thread is about resorts, not theme parks, I've moved it to the Disney Resorts board. :)

Option 2 AND 3. You can see the monorail resorts and WL together pretty easily. To allot extra time, you could just go straight to one of them from AK and skip the nap/swim. That's what we do. Maybe just relax on the"beach" at any of the resorts with a drink. :-)
