Advice on renting points??

Hi, im considering renting points for a trip in November but not sure what should happen. If i agree to rent points should i expect a contract, or does that not happen. How long does it take, can i book dining plan etc. i have never done this before and any advice would be appreciated. Maybe there is something on this site that I dont know about??

Hi. There's probably a 'sticky' on the DVC forum. TBH I'm not sure how others do it as I have never advertised, but I don't have a contract as such - just an email confirming details, outlining the cost and explaining my T&C.

It tends to happen quickly - if within the 11/7 month window, you should know within 24 hours. Once you have a reservation confirmed, the DVC member you have rented from can book the dining plan and/or Magical Express transfers on your behalf. You can make your own ADRs either online or by phone once you have the confirmation number...

thank you I think I just worry for nothing. Last year we booked a villa through a guy and paid him a deposit - he cancelled the villa several weeks later due to family reasons and i never got my money back despite hounding him for months!! Not on this site i might add - it was in europe, sure puts a bad taste in your mouth.

I've rented rpoints twice and it was as easy as anything, I contacted people on the rent/trade board, they emailed their price and paypal details, I paid and they then transferred the points to me or booked the resort for me, they then sent me the confirmation letter from DVC.
