Hi! We are hoping to head to DW next August for about 10 days. There will be two families and we would like 5 bedrooms if possible. The couple that we are traveling with LOVE to cook and I know that having a spiffy and well stocked kitchen will be important to them. We will reap the benefit of this arrangement (they love to cook... we love to eat!! :thumbsup2) Does anyone have any suggestions of homes that they are familiar with that had a particularly impressive kitchen? We don't care what community we stay in as long as it is within about 1/2 hour of the parks. Our only experience there was 3 years ago in a townhouse at Windsor Hills. Thanks so much!

What would they consider as a well stocked kitchen I wonder-lots of pans and dishes , spices ,crockpot?

The houses we have rented in the Davenport area have always had enough dishes for us(6 adults, 6 kids). They also had a good assortment of pans, but I always take my crockpot and large pan. They had coffeemaker, blender, microwave, etc. Since I have a gas range, I had to adjust to the electric stoves.
We use the crockpot on the days dsil stays to rest. She is not going in Nov. so I'm thinking of using a timer.

Thanks for the replies! I guess that I would like to be sure that there are enough cooking pots, frypans, utensils for both cooking and eating. A crockpot would not be necessary but wok maybe? Decent wine glasses are always appreciated too! :) I have read of people being very disappointed that their kitchens were missing lots of basics like peelers (no jokes please :lmao:), graters, salad spinners or had a hodgepodge of mismatched glass and dishes etc. I guess that there is such a wide variety of levels between homes that it is a bit hit or miss. I just thought that maybe there was a place out there that particularly impressed someone. I am a bit nervous because I am the one doing most of the trip planning and want to make the right accommodation choice. We will fly down so can't bring much with us other than maybe some fancy spices etc. (oops... then again maybe not... they may mistake our dried oregano for "BC Bud" at the border!!!!) Thanks again!!!!

In the villas we have stayed in none have ever had any spices at all so bring your own for sure! And if they were there could you really use them? We stayed in two side by side villas last Christmas large family group- same owner for both villas...both had plenty of dishes (at least 2 full sets for 12 people) but the other stuff varied- "our" villa had beaters- next door did not - "ours" did not have a potato masher...next door did. We had many little frying pans but all were kind of gross......looked like renters kept buying them and leaving them there- there were no cookie sheets in one villa so we just bought the cheapest and just left them there. I had always thought the owners should have a check list of what is supposed to be there. People will steal anything I guess though very hard to keep all the stuff in a villa. I have sinced learned no matter how silly it feels to ask to just ask the owners if they have the items in their homes....I never dreamed I would have to ask how many towels are in a villa but now I do after staying in one that had 7 towels total the entire 4 bedroom villa. Some owners just don't care.
