advice on new P&S camera

old canon p&S camera died. I served me well. I am currently looking at a Canon powershot A100 or the Sony w230. Looking for pros and cons, picture quality, general thoughts and experience with either one of the cameras.

Lots of knowledge here on the boards, so I thought I would ask.

I haven't used either of those but I have a Nikon Coolpix that I carry in my purse for when I don't have my DSLR with me and I love it. There are several different levels depending on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. Good luck picking!!
