Advice on my FP strategy - doable?

Ok. I'm considering a park hopper to hit my Epcot faves - soarin, test track at minimum - in the first half of the day and go to the Studios after lunch.

At studios we like to hit the standard biggies - TSM, ToT and RnR.

I haven't park hopped in YEARS! If I go to Epcot first, do I even have a prayer of getting any fastpasses for Toy Story, RnR or ToT?

Any insight on how to plan the day?

We're going for 2 days the first week of Feb, so crowds shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks!

ToT -- Probably
RnR -- Maybe
TSM -- Almost assuredly no.

Disney opened the third track for TSM which has helped capacity, but it hasn't seemed to improve same-day FP+ reservations at all.

The FP FAQ Addendum (STICKY up above) has steps for booking when park hopping.

Plan to FP Soarin', rope drop TT and as soon as you enter the FP line for Soarin', book 2 FPs for DHS.

ETA:
Booking a FP+ for another park while in the first park:

When_2 or less FP+ are booked for Park #1:
Additionally, the new changes allow you to book fewer than three FP+ if you so desire, and once you scan the first FP+ (from within the first park), you can at that point make FP+ selections for a different park, even if you still have a FP+ remaining in the first park. This can be especially helpful for Tiered parks – if for example you wish to hit Epcot at rope drop, use only a Tier 1 FP+ and then still have 2 more FP+ for another park later in the day. Additionally, there is no restriction on Tier requirements BETWEEN PARKS during one day. (See the post # 2 above for info on Tiering within the same park). So if you use a Tier 1 at Epcot you can then book a second Tier 1 at HS immediately upon scanning – in this case you no longer need to use/tap/expire the two Tier 2’s. Also, you can even book your remaining two FP+ at two different parks if you would like!

NOTE: Splitting FP+ between parks or booking for another park can NOT be done until the same day, AFTER you have already scanned your card/MB at the first FP+ Mickey head to “prove” to the system that you’re in a park. You cannot book for 2 different parks in advance or even on the same day until you have scanned your first FP+ (not just gotten into the park). The examples in post #6 will show how to do this.

I assume you want to get FP at Epcot, then hop to HS and hope to be able to pick up additional FP? I've done two parks per day on my previous short trips. If I were you, I would save your FP selections for HS (afternoon/evening park), and rope drop Epcot, hitting Soarin' first, and Test Track right after, and the line shouldn't be too bad yet, especially since FEA draws a huge rope drop crowd. In terms of lines, Test Track has a single rider line if you don't mind that, and with the addition of an additional Soarin' theatre, that line is moving better too. I've gone at the beginning of February, and actually found out we were there during a cheerleading competition of some sort, but even that didn't present terrible crowds.

Thank you! It's a roll of the dice I guess. This is why I'm not generally a park hopper :)

I added the specific strategy for park hopping to my post above.

The earlier you enter the Soarin' line, the better chance you'll have of booking TSMM.
