Some owners will play, others will not. It depends on the owner the location and the owners needs to fill vacancies. This summer I have reasonable rates as I did last summer, I have only 3 weeks left to fill, then I'm full for the summer. However, for the two over the winter that did request a rate drop on short notice, the answer was a very simple sorry, not interested.... As an owner, to rent for a shorter time period or less money is just not worth the liability or effort of renting for. I can appreciate the desire to rent for less, it just won't be my unit. So for every owner that probably will lower their rate there's an owner who will not, and doesn't mind not filling their unit.
