Hi
We are renting points from a friend and are seriously considering purchasing a DVC. Do you recommend taking a tour by a specialist while we visit? Are there any deals if you do? How long is the tour?

Thanks for sharing!

Since you are serious, I'd recommend that you set up a tour appt with a guide. The incentives change, but they usually do have them. The appointment should be about 1 1/2 hours (someone out there, please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks!)

Good luck with your decision and enjoy your trip!

There are (or were) some incentives available only with a member referral. There is a thread here with the names of all the DISers who have offered to be referrals for DVC purchases with Disney.

Or you might want to use the people you rented from as a referral if you're so inclined, since they're your friends -- actually that's a better idea.

I'd definitely take a tour at your convenience - they make it very easy. Stop by any DVC kiosk at your resort, the parks, DTD, and they'll set it up for you. They will pick you up in a van wherever you want, drop you off after it's done, they have free childcare while you tour if you want it, and free ice cream at the end. Sometimes they give out free FPs or Disney gift cards, but not all the time.
