Hi everyone,
We are headed to Disney World June 21-July 5. It will be myself, DH, DD (8 but turning 9 while there), DS (6 months) and my mom. We are staying on site at the Board Walk Villas. I have no idea what to expect taking a baby with us as we didn't take our daughter until she was 5. Any advice? I always see people in the parks with babies, so I know it's doable. We already reserved a pack and play for our room. Any park tips for a fun trip with a baby? Luckily my mom is coming and doesn't care much for rides so she will hang out with him a lot but any tips are greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

I suggest a stroller fan. I took DS at 8 months in August and he sweated like crazy. I kept him in onsies and the stroller fan was perfect. I advise not over packing either. I did every day to the parks and took way to much "just incase" stuff that was never needed and all the bags was a pain to carry. It's a lot easier than you would expect and I cherished those happy smiles. You'll have a great time!

Check in advance where the baby care centers are in each park. They are great if you forget something, or your mom just wants to get out of the sun with him for a bit while you are on a ride with his big sis.

We took our ds when he was 6 months a few years ago in May. The best investment I made was buying a baby sling to carry him in. Im not normally a baby-wearing mom, but this sling was a lifesaver. It was so easy to carry him in it while going on and off rides. there are so many options that you all can ride with no height limits, but having the extra hands and not having to hold him with both hands was great. It also worked well for a cover to nurse him too. Overall, we had a great trip. I would not hesitate to suggest to anyone that travelling with a baby isnt bad at all.

Make sure you are really comfortable with your stroller. Pack just one backpack that you can wear when the stroller is folded. Get to know and love Rider Swap. Make sure your 8 year old knows the extra ride is thanks to baby! (Helps breed patience when another baby pit stop is needed!) even if baby naps in the park, taking a break for YOU will be important. Get out of the heat, put your feet up midday. also, the family board has loads of great advice! Great ages to visit!

All Disney World restrooms have baby changing stations - including the mens' rooms. So when that diaper needs to be changed, you and your husband can just rotate that pleasant experience.

Glass containers are not allowed in Disney World but the one exception is baby food jars so you can pack those.

You might want to check out the Disney for Families forum on these boards too. Lots of good info there and answers to questions you didn't know to ask.
