:mickeyjum :donald: :tink: :smickey: :goofy: :earboy2: pixiedust: :ssst: :dumbo: :fish: I need some opinions. I am a 7th grade honor student. I would like to go to the college program, but I would like to get a degree before I go. I have the oppurtunity, ewhen I go to high school, to either go to an all academic school, which would just make me ave a better chance of getting a degree beforehand, take extra classes during the summer to get ahead, which would make me graduate a year early, or take my GED and get out of school early. I don't really wanna drop out and take the GED, so that is my last resort. I would like to know what everyone thinks I should do.

If I graduated a year early, btw, I would be 16 when I graduate. I'm really not sure, but I miss Mickey sooo much. LOL

One piece of advice: you have to be 18 when you are on the CP. Just so you know.

O.K. Thank you. But if I were to get a degree before I went, and I didn't skip a year, and it took me four years to earn the degree, I would be 21 before I went. Would they still accept me?

When I was in the CP in 1996 there was a guy who was 45 in the program. He stayed in Vista Way in an apartment with other college kids. He was in college for hotel management....he and his wife had kids early (like when he was 17 and they were still together!) and he never went to school. He went back to school at 43 and got into the CP two years later. His roomies liked him because he cooked for them!

If you waited until you were 18 to graduate from high school, there's also the possibility of delaying your college entrance (a practice that's becoming more and more common), and working for Disney -- check out the Disney Career Start program. It's significantly more structured than the college program, but a great start in a lot of ways. (Actually, in many respects, it's not dissimilar to what the CP was a decade ago.)

I was 19 1/2 when I went on the CP. I will be almost 21 when I (hopefully) go on the next one. Don't worry. I would finish HS normally (but that is just me). I hope you will be able to figure out what to do. Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. I am still thinking about what I should do. I think I am just going to wait through regular high school. If you have any moore advice, please tell me!
