Hi, we are getting (hopefully) married at SBP on 9th December 2009 and need a bit of advice/thoughts on the guests clothes.

Our colours are white, silver and deep red.

My dress is very formal (Maggie Sottero Capri Royale) in white, my DF is probably going to wear a dark suit with a white or silver waistcoat, white shirt and a mathcing burgundy neck-tie-cravat-type thing. My father is his Best Man and will wear the same. My mom is my MOH and won't want to wear deep red as it's not her colour and I don't think she wants to wear something too dark as it is a summer wedding. Well, not technically a summer wedding but it will be to us Brits with the weather we get over here!

My question is: What would you do about our guests? We reckon there will be a maximum of 13 of us in total and no-one would wear shorts and a t-shirt but would you ask them to wear a particular colour to blend/match our colours. I obviously don't want anyone to wear white and if anyone wears red it will clash.

My best friend is wearing a dusky pink dress so that is fine.

What would you do? Would you ask them to wear certain colours or not? I know it might sound a bit controlling but we are going to be a small group on the photos and I want them to look the best that we can.

Any thoughts or advice? Thanks :goodvibes

We were married this past December. Our colors were navy/silver/lavender. We didn't ask anyone to wear anything specific, but most people were aware of our colors. I assume most people know they shouldn't wear white to a wedding. I did ask our immediate family (moms, dads, my brother and his children) to sort of coordinate. Our mom's wore blue & purple. Our dad's wore grey suits (ok, my dad did, DH's is another story!). My brother and his children were our "bridal party" so they wore wedding colors.

Remember, Florida weather is schizophrenic in the winter. On our wedding day (a Friday) it was in the upper 70s, lower 80s. By Monday, it was only hitting the 50s (which is freezing for us Floridians!).
