my ds who is 4 and dd who is 18 months I figure would enjoy a character breakfast our last day since we are not going to do a park. Unfortunately Chef Mickey was booked. We are going in December. I booked Ohana's breakfast for now. Do you think there is a way to get a Chef Mickey spot? or should I just stick with Ohana's cuz its better?
This will be our first character breakfast so I dont know if spots ever open up. Any advice or comments on how each one is or how to look for open spots if the other is better is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!! :)

Well you won't have the variety at Ohana that you do at CM, but it's still a delicious breakfast and a lot of fun...we do it every time! You could also try the Mary Poppins/Alice/Mad Hatter breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.

We went to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast our last day. We loved it. :thumbsup2

The food was good and the character interaction was great. They have Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh Bear and Tigger.

Unless you're really wanting the Fab Five as characters, I'd highly recommend Park Fare.

On the other hand, slots open up all the time, so keep checking, every day, a couple times a day, if you can, and you will probably get Chef Mickey, if you really want it.

Good Luck!

Love me some 1900 Park Fare!!
It's in the Grand Floridian resort, you can take your bus from your resort to Magic Kingdom and from Magic Kingdom you can either take the boat to GF or the Monorail. The boat should bring you into the back of the resort so you can take a nice stroll through some of the grounds of the GF's beautiful resort.

We always do O'Hana on our last day. Love the breakfast- great food and characters! I would stick with it. :goodvibes

I'm not sure where you are staying, but Cape May Cafe at the BC has a fantastic character breakfast with lots of interaction. Goofy even sat down with us for like 10 minutes writing notes back and forth with my daughter - it was so cute!

Personally, I like it better than Chef Mickey's because it didn't seem so crazy.

LOVED Ohana our last day. THiss time we are trying Park faire DH want to meet the Mad Hatter LOL!

I agree here. Cape May Cafe is wonderful and very relaxing. The characters aren't in so much of a rush.

Another vote for Cape May. In fact I am just getting ready to make our last day ADR now. Character interaction was good but we also thought the food was great!!

We did Ohana on our last day too. I had originally wanted Chef Mickeys but didn't get it. I am glad we didn't! We loved Ohana and so did our DS2. The characters were great. The food and juice were really good too and we had a nice view of the castle. I would stick with Ohana!

I agree with you 100%.....the food is awesome, and the character interaction is one of the best, Cape May Cafe is our favorite character meal. When we were dining there in March Minnie sat with us because she found out that DD6 is a huge fan (DD was wearing a Minnie Mouse Sweatshirt and hairpieces). She made my DH move over so she could sit next to my DD so she could give her hugs and kisses....it was adorable. We are going back to Disney in December and we are staying at BC, so it was a no brainer to make an ADR there. Plus when we were starting to talk about where we wanted to eat at for this trip, the first thing that both DDs said they wanted to do was Cape May :goodvibes

Yep. This is our traditional last day breakfast. It's a wonderful spot. I actually like it there better than Chef Mickeys.

We love the character breakfast at Ohana!! The food is served family style, so you won't have to go through the buffet. The characters have a parade around the restaurant and the kids can join in. It's really fun!

Ohana was awesome last Dec when we went for breakfast. We did it on our last day and we are doing it again this Dec on our last day. You see Mickey, Stitch, Lilo and I believe Pluto. They were all awesome and the kids loved every second of it. Even my 9 yo who said she was too old for character meals loved it.

Another vote for Ohana!! I enjoyed sitting at the table not having to worry about missing the characters while at the buffet line. The food was excellent! We will be doing Ohana again along with Cape May Cafe.:goodvibes

Thanks everyone, such great input! My ds and ddchildren are small (4 and 2) and we are staying at the Coronado and right now have Ohana. Cape May sounds great but is Mickey there? I think my lil ones really want to see Mickey though hopefully we will see him in the park one on one :)

Ohanas is great; one of the best breakfast we have had. Chef Mickeys isnt bad. Didnt care for Donalds over in AK; the food was half of what CMs is and thats not that great. Go with Ohanas and you cant go wrong.

That was one of the great things about Ohana. We never did see Mickey up close in the parks, the lines were to long. Since our BK was our last wdw meal, we were able to assure the kids we would see Mickey which aleviated a lot of problems.

I just booked Cape May Cafe for our last day 12/17 :woohoo:

LOVE the character interaction here. I cannot wait 1st time going near the holidays. MVMCP here I come:santa:
