Advice on booking in October...

Hi! I've been looking at different resorts for our stay in October. When we went last June we split our stay between All Star Movies and the Wilderness Lodge - we enjoyed both, but fell in love with the WL. This time we'd like to stay at WL or at FW Cabins, but without a code, they are really out of our budget. So... is it better to go ahead and reserve one of those and hope that codes come out or just reserve ASMovies at a rack rate we would be willing to pay?
Since we are planning a return trip next June we are going to buy AP's and we are also Disney Visa holders (if that info helps any).

Would just like to know what others would do - any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Pleakley,

Once again I will give my opinions based upon my cramming for a Disney exam as well as booking experience.

Before you book your resort, I would make certain that it is not a resort that holds conferences. CSR during October can be pretty crazy. Codes for October have not been released yet. They are still in August from the last I have received. In my experience, October is not a time for a lot of code releasing, however.

You can always book the resort you would like to stay in and when codes are released, you can call back and ask the CM to add it onto the resort. They will gladly do this for you, provided that the usage of that code is still available. They would rather have you stay on property than book at a local hotel.

You can also use your Disney Visa (when the offer is available) for discounts, as well as AAA.

Thanks for the info. I know I'm not the only one in this boat, waiting for codes/discounts. I'm still not sure what I'll do.
Do the value resorts sell out in late October? I may go ahead and book where we really want to stay and if I don't luck out with any discounts maybe I'll luck out with rack rates and availability at one of the values?
Thanks again!

Last October, I booked two rack rate rooms at WL. When the AP rates came out in late August, I was able to apply it to our existing reservation.

This year, I have a room booked at the Contemporary and am hoping to do the same thing!

Good luck! :D

We will be having our first stay at the WL Oct. 28-Nov. 1. I too am praying for some discount to come out. I feel better that Dreams Unlimited is also watching/checking for me. It's our first time at a deluxe so this is a big budget stretch (we usually stay at CBR).
Hoping pixie dust comes through for us both!:wave2:
