I'm just wondering how to add the DCP to my resume? I can't find anything about it on the website. I did hospitality and I just don't remember the terms we used for tasks within the hotel or the names of the computer systems we used (are those even relevant to other places?). Lol it's lame that it was only a year ago but my mind is soooo cluttered!! :smickey:

Any help would be appreciated!

My vacation planner part of my resume is actually my favorite part (well, until I got my PI experience in that is)

Here it is:

WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT Lake Buena Vista, FL
Magic Kingdom Vacation Planner Feb – Aug 2011
A member of the front-line ticket sales team for Magic Kingdom Park. Handled roughly 100 Guest sales situations on a daily basis and received detailed product knowledge training on all Walt Disney World Theme Park attractions.
• Recognized by leadership on 8 separate occasions in 6 months for outstanding Guest Service and sales performance
• Exceeded 6 of 6 monthly sales goals, once breaking location record high by selling 183% of goal

If you focus your efforts on making all of your bullet points achievements instead of descriptions, you're gonna have a much better time and feel a lot better. Also, don't forget your buzz-words- throw as many as you can in there because (and I HATE this) some companies use resume-scanning software that looks through your resume for key words and if it doesn't find enough or the right ones, your resume is gone before a human even looks at it.

Wow! I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

What are some of the 'buzz words'? Curious to know, I didn't realize about the resume scanner...

Just be careful on the buzzwords as the opposite can hold true. some of the buzzwords have become so overuse that their use can end up putting your resume in the wrong pile.

The scanners can hold true for a company that is huge and gets 1000's of resumes. It can also be the case for a company using an employment agencies. I have worked in companies that employee between 250 and 500 employees in an accounting managerial role. HR's role in these companies have been to weed out the applicants who are really not a match at all. The rest of the pile is given to the hiring manager(s) who are looking for skills, not buzzwords.

The PP is absolutely right and covers something I hate about resumes- the fact that you have to use buzzwords at all. It makes your resume look contrived and forced, but is sometimes a necessity. Software loves buzzwords, humans typically don't, because they can see right past it. Let your resume demonstrate how dedicated you are, don't just say it.
