Question can DVC make an exception and bank points a second time?

So on January 1st I tried to book at our home resort of Boulder Ridge for the week of Dec 1st. I was stunned that the full week was not available so we were waitlisted. I was not worried at all because we were 11 months out. Fast forward to today and the waitlist never came though in spite of several calls early on to member services telling me not to worry that it should come through. Our year use is Oct. We are going to try again next December however we will have an extra 65 points that we will not be able to bank into the next year since they will already to banked. I have talked to member services and our rep and the answer is too bad so sad and your only option is to bank them into RCI. I looked at their reservations and can not find anything decent early next year but the resorts are not that great (not equal value). I guess my question is, can DVC make an exception and bank points a second time so that we do not loose them? We live in the Pacific NW and not close to anything. What would you do?

You won't be able to bank points forward a second year. Maybe try renting those ones out to get some value out of them if you won't be able to use them yourself.

Although MS has been known to grant occasional exceptions to the banking rules, AFAIK, they have never allowed points to be banked more than once. The exceptions granted are usually for a missed deadline. Sorry. Hope you find a way to get some value for them. Good luck.

This is the kind of thing where accounting rules may come into play. I don't know that they can make such an exception under condo association rules.

Can they, yes, they can do about anything they want that isn't precluded by the POS or other legal means. I don't recall any examples of them allowing a second banking. I do recall examples where it wasn't allowed for hurricanes and other events where you'd think they might be possible.

That is why I am wondering if a second banking might not be legally okay. The act of God events where they have said no.

They really have complete control, they could if they chose to. IMO they shouldn't but then they do things that I think they shouldn't otherwise like credits or return of points when I feel it's inappropriate.
