Advice needed

I woke up this morning to realize that I have missed our banking window by four days. In the last three weeks, my mum's marriage has fallen apart, she has moved the 100miles to stay with me, we've been desperately searching nursing homes so that we can move my nan down here - she is still in sheltered accommodation where my mum used to be, and my mum was one of her main carers, so mum is currently up and down the motorway every few days to check on her!

Mum already has a heart condition, which we have a second opinion appointment for in just over a week at the Heart Hospital, and we're supposedly flying to Orlando in four weeks! Is it any wonder that I completely forgot about this, what seems like trivial thing?

Anyway, what do I do? We have 114 points that we were planning to bank for next year so that we could have two holidays (May and September) - something that should have happened this year, but didn't because my mum's Cardiologist recommended that she did not travel in May because they were doing tests and changing her meds around. :(

Our current points are going to run on at the end of November. Is there the smallest of chances that someone (our agent?) out there at DVC will give us a break and bank the points for us? Or, is it as I fear, and rules are rules? If these points expire in November, does that mean I have to go on a holiday before November, or that I just have to have something booked before November? ie Could I still use those points to book our May trip (still 7months in advance)???

Anyway, I am tearing my hair out right now! I'm just praying 1) my passport comes back and 2) the new cardiologist at the Heart Hospital doesn't say we cannot fly! I just want to know there is something I can do with these points that still means they 1) don't just go to waste, and 2) that we get our two holidays next year, because believe me, we REALLY need them!
 
Sorry for all your troubles. Hope they work out and your Mum is OK.

Call MS tomorrow and ask if they will bank the points for you even though it is past your deadline. Tell them you heard about a super secret, one time exception to the banking rules and could they please apply that to you this one time.

With any luck, they will bank the points for you. But this exception really is only good once in a lifetime. You may need to ask the CM to consult a Supervisor. Exceptions like this have been made in the past. Hopeing they still do it.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.
I've never been in a banking situation that you're in, but,
I'd first talk to your guide and/or member services...they may be able to do something for you.
If not, perhaps you may be able to rent your points out, and use the money from the rental toward one of your trips next year...you may be able to rent points then.
I hope all works out for you; there may be someone else on the boards that may be able to give you more information.
Let us know how things turn out.
 
Take Carol's advice (always a good thing--she knows what she's talking about!) and ask MS for a one time exception. I think you will be happy in the end.
Good luck surviving all of your current woes. I understand. Having a WDW trip to anticipate sure can help on the really tough days.

Call MS. Your guide may be sympathetic (or not, depending), but they have nothing to do with banking rules. Just explain your mother's situation to MS and hopefully some pixie dust will be spread.

Hi guys!

Just thought I'd update you all on what's happened. Called MS this afternoon and told them everything that's happened and that we forgot to bank a few days ago. They were amazing! Have banked all our remaining points and added them to next year's! :cool1: So thanks everyone, couldn't have done it without you!
