Advice Needed

Im going to be booking flights and our accomodation for MAy 2009 in a few weeks hopefully but im not sure what weeks to book.

We are currently going on a 7 night western cruise on the 2nd-9th May, but im not sure what weeks to book for the hotel. We were thinking either -

1. Fly out on Thursday 30th April, spend 2 nights at universal and then go to Port Canaveral Saturday Morning, then do 10 nights after the cruise at Saratoga. Or..

2. A combination of some nights before the cruise and some nights after the cruise.

Either option suits me but my concern is crowds - are the going to be worse at the end of April or in Mid May? I think that will decide for me if there is a significant difference?

Easter Sunday is April 12th in 2009. Many US schools schedule their Spring Break around Easter, so you'll find the parks will be crazy busy both the week before and the week after. A few schools will have their break later (and some will be in March), but most kids should be back before the beginning of May. Memorial Day is 25th May in 2009.

My guess is that the end of April could be busier than mid May, but either way you'll miss the very worst of the Easter/Spring Break and the Memorial Day crowds.

We cruised at the same time in 2005 - flew in the day before and spent a week in the Beach Club after the cruise. The crowd level was fine and the weather was gorgeous!!! May is my personal fave time in WDW...

I would personally go with option one, spend two days in Orlando, cruise and then you got the 10 days to look forward to on getting back.
We debated on this for our November trip and decide to do Disney after the cruise.

If you went earlier (this year the week before we went out my sister was there and she said it was really busy! but easter was later this year).
