Advice Needed - Wait or Book?

Ok DVCers I need some advice. My family is planning our next trip for January 10-17, 2015. We have a wonderful DVC member that we have previously rented points from but she is not an owner at AKL, which where we would like to stay. We need a 2 bedroom and studio at AKL - Kidani. If we wait until 7months out will we be able to get what we need? Or should we stay at OKW where she is an owner and can book now? We have already stayed at OKW and really want to stay at AKL but don't want to get stuck at 7 months with no where to stay. What would y'all do??

P.S. - I believe that the Disney marathon will be the day we check-in Jan10 so will that have an affect on availability for our desired stay at AKL?

I've been stalking akl 2 brs this past month (for a 7th month switch I did for Oct). All 2 brs had great availability so I don't think there's a huge demand. But I'm not sure how the marathon will affect that. Best of luck!

Why not have your owner rent at OKW now and try to move the reservation to AKV at 7 months? It may cost more points, can she do that for you?

You should have no problem for those dates. I booked a 2br at BLT for spring break (two years now) right at the 7month mark. And AKL has more rooms in a less busy time period. Mark the 7month date and call/book that morning. Enjoy!
